Hi, the main motivation of this small personal project is the ability to build Postgres-backed python apps that remain fully pip-installable despite the dependency, while saving your users any need to setup Postgres if they don't have it. It also helps me, as a developer, to not have to remember how to set up postgres, which I find is one main barrier to using it for small stuff. It's a little project of mine that may be helpful to more people. I'm curious to hear your feedback (ps. I know about SQLite, but sometimes you want/need to build against postgres)

About a month ago I started a suprisingly-not-that tricky project to build an experimental python repl that I could use instead of bash as a daily shell in windows, mac or linux. It"s more hack-for-exploration than a production ready shell, but here it is! Hope somebody finds it anywhere near as interesting to check out as I found making it. Disclaimer: I know about xonsh and love it (if you haven't heard of it, google it). This project is more pure python and less python and bash interacting - see the readme for more details.

I’ve been working on Pyra for the past few months and wanted to start sharing it in public. Right now it’s focused on the core package/project management workflow: Python installs, init, add/remove, lockfiles, env sync, and running commands in the managed env. Panoptisch scans your Python file or module to find it's imports (aka dependencies) and recursively does so for all dependencies and sub-dependencies. It then generates a dependency tree in JSON for you to parse and enforce import policies. It currently supports Linux as of now. You can use this package to tinker with many things. Let's say, if you want to make a custom notification system, like if your website is down, you can make a blink notification with it. MacOS support is underway. I haven't tested Windows yet, I don't use it anymore btw. In future, if this package reaches nice growth, I'll be happy to make a similar Rust crate for it.
