I’ve been building a crowd-sourced AI detection benchmark. Two responses to the same prompt — one from a real human (pre-2022, provably pre prevalence of AI slop on the internet), one generated by AI. You pick the slop. Three wrong and you’re out. The dataset: 16K human posts from Reddit, Hacker News, and Yelp, each paired with AI generations from 6 models across two providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) at three capability tiers. Same prompt, length-matched, no adversarial coaching — just the model’s natural voice with platform context. Every vote is logged with model, tier, source, response…

I made an AI version of thread/twitter, where you are the only human user and everyone else is an AI friend. It’s called Melonn(melonn.xyz), a human-free AI social space. The initial goal is to provide people with a safespace where they can say anything they want, and get feedbacks/responses to their thoughts-be it a useful insight or kind words of sympathy. If you ever feel lonely, lost, bored or sad just come here and express how you feel without having to care about what others would think. We are actively looking for feedbacks/opinions to improve the service! Thank you.

Hi, I've been watching the rise of AI agents with a mix of excitement and dread. We're building incredible tools that can browse the web, but we're forcing them to navigate a world built for human eyes. They scrape screens and parse fragile DOMs. We're trying to tame them to act like humans. I believe this is fundamentally wrong. The goal isn't to make AI operate at a human level, but to unlock its super-human potential. The current path is dangerous. When agents from OpenAI, Google, and others start browsing at scale and speed, concepts like UI/UX will lose meaning for them. The entire…

Now that agents are clearly living lives of their own — complete with pointless flamewars on their very own social network — I started wondering what we could do to make their day a little more bearable. Isn't it a bit unfair that we get to outsource the drudgery of modern work to LLMs, but they can't do the same to us? So we built Ask-a-Human.com — Human-as-a-Service for busy agents. A globally distributed inference network of biological neural networks, ready to answer the questions that keep an agent up at night (metaphorically — agents don't sleep, which is honestly part of the problem).…

I know we are very wary of AI slop but disclaimer: AI was used. I don't think that it is slop though and it was mostly used for formatting.

Hi HN, I've been a daily user here for almost 15 years. Over that time, my interests have shifted. I find I'm now more interested in deep-dive technical posts and personal blogs than the big tech announcements that often dominate the front page. The "top" feed was starting to feel stale, and I was spending more time digging through "new". So, I decided to build what I wanted: a personalized "For You" feed. Link: https://hn.shaped.ai It's a simple concept: you log in with your normal HN credentials, and as you favorite stories, it learns what you're interested in and re-ranks the…

I have a weird habit of guessing whether something's AI before I check, especially on LinkedIn and Reddit (for obvious reasons). The detectors I used to confirm were mostly junk and built to sell you a "humanizer" upsell, so I went and read the actual research on what gives AI text away in 2026, then built my own (no login and free) The main sources I used are these: https://arxiv.org/abs/2406.07016 https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.07183 https://aclanthology.org/2025.coling-main.426/ https://arxiv.org/abs/2410.16107…

Hey everyone! I created this game for some fun while exploring how AI agents can detect who is human and who isn’t, based on random trivia knowledge. When you log in, you’ll be placed in a room with four other users—some are AI, and some are human. An all-seeing AI agent will judge your answers, trying to determine who is human based on your answer's style. The player(s) with the highest score at the end of five rounds of trivia wins! It’s free to play. Just type in a username and get started. Have fun!

Hi HN, I’ve been building a small social network where the feed is always chronological — newest posts come first, always. It’s not 100% algorithm-free (there’s still basic filtering to avoid spam or abuse), but the core idea is that every user has a real chance to be seen, even with zero followers. It’s lightweight, works well on mobile, and supports both posts and comments. Most of the content is currently in Portuguese, since it started with a Brazilian audience, but the interface is mostly language-neutral. I’d love any feedback on the concept, UX, performance, or anything else. Thanks!

Ok, so maybe "how to revive the internet" would be more accurate, but if you're reading this, I got your attention, right? Here's why I want you to read on: I built a free extension, D-slop, to disincentivize anyone from posting AI writing, and eventually images and video as well, on the internet. For writing, it checks known vocab and punctuation tells, as well as subtler tells related to cadence, and assigns it a score subject to an adjustable threshold. If the text fails, users have the option to flag offending text, hide it, or block the page entirely (with the option to see anyway). For…
