We often find ourselves waiting for Excel just to do simple tasks like merging two CSVs, checking for duplicates, or converting a PDF table to CSV. Thus, I built ilovecsv.net. It's a suite of 30+ free tools that run in your browser.

The project is called QueryStorm. It uses Roslyn to offer C# (and VB.NET) support in Excel, as an alternative to VBA. I've posted about it before, but a lot has changed since then so figured I'd share an update. The current version includes a host of new features, namely a C# debugger, support for NuGet packages, and the ability to publish Excel extensions to an "AppStore" (which is essentially a NuGet repository). The AppStore can be used by anyone with the (free) runtime component. Another great addition is the community license, which is a free license for individuals and small companies…

I have spent large parts of the last 10+ years building an SQL Editor. The tool is targeted at data analysts, a lot of effort has gone into charting, visualizing and excel export. If this sounds useful to you, it's Free, please give it a try and let me know any feedback.

I built CSV GB+ by Data.olllo, a local data tool that lets you open, clean, and export gigabyte-sized CSVs (even billions of rows) without writing code. Most spreadsheet apps choke on big files. Coding in pandas or Polars works—but not everyone wants to write scripts just to filter or merge CSVs. CSV GB+ gives you a fast, point-and-click interface built on dual backends (memory-optimized or disk-backed) so you can process huge datasets offline. Key Features: Handles massive CSVs with ease — merge, split, dedup, filter, batch export Smart engine switch: disk-based "V Core" or RAM-based "P…

Hey HN! I've been building CSV editors for 15 years. This is my third rewrite, and I think I finally got it right. Key features: - Excel-like operation for intuitive use - Equipped with basic to advanced tools necessary for handling CSV - Supports various formats and character encodings. Can handle CSVs with different column counts - Cross-platform (Windows/Mac, Linux coming soon) - Opens 100MB files in 1.6 seconds (12x faster than Excel) Tech stack: Tauri (Rust + React/TypeScript/TailwindCSS) Would love feedback from anyone dealing with large datasets daily! Hey HN, solo dev here. After years of frustration with how LLMs handle complex documents, especially PDFs with tables, I decided to build a solution myself. My approach uses a Markdown conversion step to preserve the table structure, which seems to work surprisingly well for chunking. This little parser is the first public piece of a much larger, privacy-focused AI platform I'm building. I'm pretty much running on fumes financially, so any feedback, critique, or support is massively appreciated. Happy to answer any questions about the approach!
