Products that do what I created a beautiful number animation library for React Native does
Hi! I've been frustrated with the fact that the beautiful NumberFlow library for web (link) is not available on React Native - a platform that I think is much more animation native than the web is. And there are no alternatives of the same quality available. So I reimplemented it myself, basically from the ground up. Introducing Number Flow React Native. I am aiming for this to be the best number animation library for React Native. - Beautiful animation easing directly inspired by web NumberFlow - Supporting both Native and Skia versions - Full i18n support for locales, things like compact…

Hi everyone! We’re Avishay, Or, and Michal, co-founders of Anima (www.animaapp.com). Anima converts design (Figma/Sketch/XD) into code automatically. Up until today, we only produced HTML/JS/CSS. With our latest release, we can now also generate developer-friendly React code. We’re here to replace image-based handoff, which involves a lot of grunt work for the engineers who have to translate all those images into code that does the same thing. For designers, the pain we solve is the ping-pong, and their vision getting lost in translation. The bottom line is that teams can…

Hey there! I'm Sami. Over the past year, I've been busy building apps for clients, and I always found it challenging to discover a great animated component library. So, I took it upon myself to learn how to create beautiful animations. It was tough at first, but with persistence and a lot of practice, I eventually started crafting some really impressive animations for my clients! Now, I'm excited to share some of my favorite creations with you on my platform, DynaUI. I'd love to hear what you think!

All-encompassing guide to optimizing your React Native app

Hey, I'm Nenad. I built Grafly (https://grafly.io) because I kept reaching for different tools just to sketch out a quick architecture diagram and hating either the UI, color schemes, usage patterns or that I had to log in, or have my doodles stored on someone's server. It's a React/React Flow app that runs entirely in the browser meaning that everything saves to localStorage, nothing leaves your machine. You get basic shapes, AWS/GCP icons, edges with waypoints and shareable URLs that encode the whole diagram in the query string (no backend, just LZ compression). There…

Hi HN. I am not new to programming but very new to react-native. I thought I would share my first react-native application ever with HN for your comments. I have a day job as an enterprise developer and every day for 2 weeks I worked on my 60 minute bus ride in to work on this application from the front end to the back end. The biggest challenge was my relative inexperience with mobile development and my lack of design / ux creativity. The Android Play store submission was really easy however the Apple App Store submission took about 3 versions before it was accepted. Link to app on…

Hi everyone! I just open sourced my first package: a new way of building calendars in React Native. It uses Shopify's FlashList component as its foundation, along with React optimization techniques to re-render only what changed. I'm using in production for my side-project and it behaves incredibly well. I hope it can be useful for more of you! Bests, Marcelo

Hey everyone! Some time ago I was analyzing why React apps are so hard to optimize, and came to a conclusion that the lack of atomic updates is the culprit. I made an experimental library which basically updates everything in place directly in HTML. At some point I became aware that Solidjs exists, which is a very similar idea, but at the end of the day I realized my approach to API is quite different and warrants the existence of my library (my state primitive allows selector subscriptions, array iterators return a state primitive with the element, allowing to never re-render the whole…

Hey everyone! I'm excited to share Trangram, a completely free tool for animation and illustration that works right in your browser, no installs or sign-ups needed. I originally created Trangram to make motion graphics easier for myself, and as I kept working on it, I realized it could be useful for others too. It's been a fun side project, and I've used it to create my own animations, which you can check out on Trangram's gallery page. Since my first post here 6 months ago, I've made lots of updates. Want to see what's new over the past 6 months? Check it out here:…
