“Lend Me Your Ears” is an interactive web-based game inspired by the classic Simon toy (originally by Milton Bradley). It presents players with a sequence of musical notes and challenges them to reproduce the sequence using either an on-screen piano or a connected MIDI keyboard. Each correct response leads to a progressively more difficult sequence, testing the player’s concentration, memory, and pitch recognition. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

I made this as a side project because I've always loved music but never had a real instrument or lessons. It started as a simple piano to play online, but grew into something more: - 100% free, no installation or login required - Multilingual interface (EN/ES/PT, more coming) - Works on desktop and mobile - Step-by-step mode to learn songs interactively Try it here: https://pianoeletronico.com.br/en It’s not professional software, just a free and fun way to make music. Feedback and ideas are very welcome!
