Products that do what I'm launching a LPFM radio station does
I've been working on creating a Low Power FM radio station for the east San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. We are not yet on the broadcast band but our channel will be 95.9FM and our range can been seen on the homepage of our site. KPBJ is a freeform community radio station. Anyone in the area is encouraged to get a timeslot and become a host. We make no curatorial decisions. Its sort of like public access or a college station in that way. This month we launched our internet stream and on-boarded about 60 shows. They are mostly music but there are a few talk shows. We are restricting all…

I wanted to listen to music with friends who live far away. Not "watch a YouTube video together" - actually share what I'm hearing in real-time, like we're in the same room. Pulse is what came out of that. Anyone can host a live audio stream from their browser tab or system audio. Listeners join, music recognition identifies tracks automatically, and there's chat with 7TV emotes. No account required - you get an anonymous code and you're in. We're running demo rooms that stream NTS Radio and SomaFM 24/7 (indie project, not affiliated - we backlink to the original stations). There's also…

The project identifies as "Your Raspberry Pi FM network". It uses a fork of the well-known PiFmRds as a backend to stream audio on FM radio. It allows the control of multiple pi units with a central server, that can also be temporarly hosted on google cloud shell or github codespaces.

Hey HN! I've been working on Muxamp for over a year now, and I decided that there's no point in keeping the source closed. (I never planned on making money from it.) I've learned a lot since I started, and I hope others can benefit from its release--and perhaps teach me a thing or two as well :)

This is our entry in the "spontaneous event creation" ring. I'd love to hear what HN readers think!

I've spent the past few weeks building *LLM.FM*, a GTA-inspired Radio Show where every topic, song, and advertisement is generated entirely by AI. I loved the absurd style of the radio stations in the Grand Theft Auto games, and I wanted to see how close I could get with todays AI stack. While it isn't quite as vulgar, I think it's still a unique experience! How it works * GPT-4.1 writes a "high-level" show overview given a desired structure, this is done to keep coherence between segments * Individual segment transcripts are generated with the provided outline * ElevenLabs turns the into…

I built this app because I really enjoyed "Pulse" but I felt it lacked a few things. I wanted a web-based version, I wanted my news articles grouped together by topic, and I wanted an easy way to share with other people. It is early in the site's life, so somethings are missing, including the critical mobile app. If you have any feedback to give, it would be appreciated!
