Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere. So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes. It's pretty early days, but give it a try? Would love to hear what you think, or if you find places it breaks!

I’ve been using this for my own workflow and friends suggested I share it with them so I quickly threw together my first chrome extension! As an ex-editor, I think chatGPT is overlooked as an editor with everyone jumping straight into writing. Editing is essentially giving it as comprehensive a writing prompt as possible. Playing with the actual prompt also gets you a wide range of different results that grammarly/other apps cant really do. Type /ai + your prompt in any textbox and the ChatGPT will do the job I've made this project so I could learn how to create Chrome extensions. I know there are already a lot of alternatives for it, but this was a learning project and I would love some feedback on the code. ( I was unable to make it work on sites that use the React Lexical editor, i.e Reddit, Facebook, etc :( )

Hi all, I threw together a small prototype I am calling “Notepad.ai”. A new take on UIs for interacting with LLMs. While I enjoy using LLM’s in the chat format I wanted to see what it would be like to do it in a more long form style. It let’s you write in a pretty free form, much like Window’s Notepad, but you can choose to hit ctrl+[ to analyze the text with a preset prompt of your choosing. It has a few other small features. I made a tiny bookmarklet that opens ChatGPT in a new tab and auto-fills the prompt to summarize the current page you're on. All LLM user interfaces I've seen so far are somewhat frustrating: * ChatGPT web requires a lot of copy-paste, it rewrites whole document even if you need to update a part of it, etc. * Github Copilot completions are rather unreliable and do not leave an option to specify what you want; Copilot's chat sidebar is little more than ChatGPT integrated into the IDE * Google Docs have right UI for non-code text, but they use really dumb model (not Gemini 1.5 Pro).
