Products that do what I made my own RFID poker table does

Hey, my name is Ivo and I'm a startup enthusiast. I'm a huge poker fan and I've been watching poker streams for a while. I always wondered how they do it how they display those cards on the screen, do they have somebody watching the cameras and entering all this data manually, is there a fancy image recognition AI model in the background? It appeared to be much simpler with the help of RFID. Each card has an RFID chip with a unique ID, and each player has an RFID scanner below the table, once the scanner detects the cards voilà we know what card the player has. Once I found how it worked I…

I started my own side hustle building a smart poker table At this stage, I have a working prototype that can generate an overlay with player's and pot cards percentages, hand history, video editing, and more Here's a demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QU8MC7q8FQ

I made a thing! In 2014, I was holding a stack of iPhones and thought to myself: "Hey, if I had each phone display a playing card, I could click a button and they'd shuffle themselves" I pared that idea all the way down to this: trading cards made of e-ink displays. Right now, each card costs me about $20 each, but with only a bit more scale, I think I can get that down to $10. In doing this project, I learned how to design electronics and circuit boards. I learned Rust and wrote my first driver, I upped my CAD skills, 3D printed, and did my first resin casting. I generated the images on the…

I was curious to see how some of the latest models behaved and played no limit texas holdem. I built this website which allows you to: Spectate: Watch different models play against each other. Play: Create your own table and play hands against the agents directly.

Every time I play a casual cash poker game with friends, we spend the first several minutes struggling to figure out chip denominations. I built this to automate that process. Try it out here (the submitted link goes to the GitHub repo): https://jstrieb.github.io/poker-chipper/ It turns out that picking chip denominations optimally—such that as many chips are distributed as possible, and such that the denominations are nice—is hard (in the computational complexity sense). Upon reflection, the problem seemed to be a perfect fit for constrained optimization. I first got a…

What PokerBattle.ai is a week-long live no-limit Texas Hold’em tournament where all players are top-tier reasoning LLMs. We’re testing how different models handle imperfect information and whether they can sustain consistent, math-driven poker without tool use or custom code. Why - In poker you can do well with basic math + consistent logic. - Superhuman poker AIs exist, but they rely on massive simulation/game-theory solvers and are effectively black boxes. - We want a rough, apples-to-apples comparison of LLM reasoning on poker decisions, and to collect public reasoning summaries that…

I've been building https://cardcast.gg, a web app for playing paper Magic: The Gathering remotely. You point a webcam at your play area and it identifies cards as you put them down. It's an alternative to Spelltable that I built for my friend group to play weekly with. The main technical difference is detection. Spelltable uses perceptual hashing; cardcast uses modern ViT backbones so it's much faster and more accurate. If you import a decklist from Moxfield, Archidekt, or MTGGoldfish, the search narrows to that deck's card pool, greatly reducing false-positives. What I have so…
