Just about a year ago, the concept for a sci-fi book popped into my head. I instantly knew I have to see it through despite not having any writing experience (and a pretty demanding job). So I dug into the academic research, tried many techniques myself, saw what worked, wrote a book for learners of any language and any level, and made it free without ads. Probability involves a lot of extra-mathematical concepts and funny transforms. I have always had a hard time internalizing it. When I heard a couple years ago that Lemurs are actually capable of abstract math, that gave me a bit of motivation to try to finally conceptualize probability in terms of whole numbers, counts, geometric shapes, basically easy-to-remember mathematical primitives. The project is entirely open source. It takes a single Pandoc Markdown source file and produces HTML, EPUB, PDF, man pages, GNU Info, an audiobook, an HTML-integrated audio player that highlights the content as it plays, and an MP4 output for the "video audiobook." It's generic enough to be reusable. I plan to use the pipeline for my tech blog later on. The novella contains a lot of programming lore.
