I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. Please try it out and let me know what do you think, http://telescope.surf/ Note: you can do 'Add to Homescreen' on mobile to make it as an app. Please leave a feedback or any feature wishlist you may have. Thanks!

There are many like it but this one is mine: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pivit/id705715915?mt=8 Seriously, though, this Hacker News reader is better than what's out there, or I wouldn't have spent time on it. How? Most importantly, it utilizes the background refresh APIs, so content is always up to date. Pull to refresh is there, but you probably won't need it. The more addicted you are, the more often it updates. So if you check every few hours, you'll always get the current front page. Complementing this, it helps you see not only what you've read but what…

tl;dr: Go to kindlehnbeta.pythonanywhere.com on your Kindle’s browser. I wrote a wrapper over hackernews that allows me to browse it on my Kindle. Simply visit kindlehnbeta.pythonanywhere.com on your Kindle’s browser. You’ll be able to view top stories, the comments within them and even the article content that the stories link to. The articles are parsed by a library that makes its best attempt to extract the main content. I only own a Kindle Oasis (10th Generation) and thus have only tested this on it. I’d imagine it looks fine on other Kindles, but you’ll have to tell me. Link to…
