Hey HN! My friends and I built a new platform for generating images. The app is easy to use for people who find ComfyUI hard to use, or just simply don’t have a GPU to use it on. For those not familiar, ComfyUI is a great tool for using open-source models like Stable Diffusion. It’s primarily great because it’s a node-based tool, which means you can chain together models, upscalers, prompting nodes, etc… which let you create images in the exact aesthetic you want. There’s also a vibrant dev community behind ComfyUI, which means that there are a ton of nodes and customizability. We’re users…

For a game I'm developing I needed an easy way to create hotspot areas on images. So I hacked together a small tool to do so and before I knew it, I had created an entire app :-) It allows you to generate JSON or YAML from the coordinates you tack on the image. tack runs entirely in your browser, there is no server side component to it, so good in terms of privacy. Hope this is helpful.

Hi HN, I built https://mergejpg.me – a client-side image merging tool that combines multiple JPG images directly in your browser without any server uploads. The Problem: Most image editing tools require uploading your photos to remote servers, which raises privacy concerns for sensitive documents, business presentations, or personal images. The Solution: Complete client-side processing using modern browser APIs. Your images never leave your device. Technical Details: - Built with Next.js 15 and TypeScript - Uses HTML5 Canvas API for image manipulation - Progressive loading for…

I built React Photo Studio, a free image editor that runs entirely in the browser with React and WebGL. Right now only the brush tool is functional for drawing, while the rest of the interface is a prototype awaiting development. Everything is client side, no backend. I would appreciate feedback on usability and code structure, and I welcome pull requests. Live demo https://reactphotostudio.app Code https://github.com/chase-manning/react-photo-studio

Hey HN I built ImageConverter.dev because I got tired of “free” image converter sites that force uploads, or throttle conversions. So I made a tool that runs 100% client-side — meaning your images never leave your device. It’s built for speed, simplicity, and privacy. What it does Convert images between JPG, PNG, WebP Works offline once loaded (PWA support) How it works It uses the Canvas API and WebAssembly to handle conversions directly in the browser. There’s no upload, no tracking, no server costs, and it’s fast even on mid-range devices. Why I built it I wanted an instant, no-ads,…

Well, it's yet another screenshot-to-code tool. I use it daily. Of course, it sucks with complex designs, but it's still better than starting from scratch. It's a paid tool, but I've tried to be fair with the pricing at $9/month. However, I understand that times are tough. If you really want to keep using the tool and can't afford the $9, I get it. Just sign up and comment with your email, and I'll gift you three months of premium for free.

So I'm a junior Go dev and I made a small site that allows me to share images with someone privately and securely, and give me control over how many times the private link can be shared and how long the image will be accessible for. There are similar services to this one, but they are either convoluted with ads, or require sign-up, or expect you to fill out a survey or something. picburn is small, safe, and has no interest (nor the code or the server space) for storing your uploads. give it a try if it fits your usecase and let me know what you think. After accidentally nuking the production database of my last side project, I wished I had used dev/prod environments with automated DB backups. When I looked for a SaaS template to start over with integrated dev/prod environments, I couldn’t find one. So I decided to build it myself. To help speed up the setup, I also built Bash and PowerShell scripts to guide users through the process. The current stack is Next.js, Firebase, and Stripe. However, I’m considering writing some Terraform modules for GCP resources to further speed up setup and provide more flexibility for power users.…

The use case am considering is to do self testing on your site yourself, rather than depending on any third party, I plan to OpenSource it. I am storing the mouse movement coordinates of the user in a javascript array which I plan to send to server every few seconds and save into DB. Where I plan to aggregate the data and show final results. What do you think? http://websymphony.github.com/labs/trackerapp/ Currently tested on only Chrome.

Hi HN! I built a free pixel art editor that runs entirely in the browser — no install, no signup, no watermark. The frontend is open source (MIT): https://github.com/comficker/simplepixelart What it does: - Sprite editor with layers, selections, mirror drawing, and an infinite-canvas workspace (multiple boards on one desk) - Frame-by-frame animation with onion skin, per-frame duration, GIF and spritesheet export - Tileset builder that auto-generates Wang-16 and blob-47 terrain sets from a single base tile — exports Godot 4 TileSet, Tiled .tsx, or PNG+JSON — plus a tilemap…

Show HN: Tiptap Editor 3.0 Beta is out. Hi HN! Philip here from Tiptap (https://tiptap.dev/). We're excited to announce Tiptap 3.0 Beta, a major upgrade built with and for the open source community. It's still extension-based, still unopinionated, but we've tackled some of the biggest developer headaches: Enhanced TypeScript support: Strong typing for extension storage and config options. Server-side compatibility: Manipulate editor content on the server, no DOM required. JSX support: Leverage a modern, React/Vue-like approach to describing your node output. Expanded…
