I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. An honest to god, non-algorithmic reverse chrono list of tech news that passes my signal-to-noise tests, updated hourly. A lightweight a page design as I've been able to keep; simple, clean, fast. Hello HN I visit a few sites news sites daily and wanted to see the headlines all on one page and also have it update itself throughout the day. It is not finished yet, but is usable enough to share. I got tired of reading clickbait articles and seeing irrelevant ads. So I pulled in a few RSS feeds to create a news digest using OpenAI 4o-mini for summarisation. Appreciate any feedback you'all might have. PS: News-summarisation may have been done to death, but I'm a UI noob, so I'm using this project to learn some.

I built this app because I really enjoyed "Pulse" but I felt it lacked a few things. I wanted a web-based version, I wanted my news articles grouped together by topic, and I wanted an easy way to share with other people. Hi Everyone, I was frustrated with the terrible news reading experience (Paywall, advertisements) so I created a free tool that summarizes the latest news articles and analyzes the potential stock impacts. This experiment has saved me so much time to help me understand what might be more important than others. It's completely free, no ad whatsoever.
