Excited to share the project I've been working on for the past 7 months! We've seen nearly weekly attacks against the open source software supply chain. I saw the seeds of this trend start in the mid 2015s as an open source maintainer and I've watched it only get worse over the years. I finally decided to try to solve this problem. Socket is taking an entirely new approach to one of the hardest problems in security in a stagnant part of the industry that has historically been obsessed with just reporting on known vulnerabilities. Unlike other scanning tools, Socket actually analyzes the…

I've open sourced a JavaScript to WASM compiler. It's an experimental tool, but given the semantics I already implemented, I'm fairly certain I am able to eventually cover 100% of JavaScript spec. Any ideas, questions or critique welcomed! If you are interested in WASM, especially with new proposals like WASM GC or exception handling, it might be a good source of seeing these features in action - the project has a few thousand lines of hand written WAT so far.

Sometimes you might want to share a screenshot of the website you're on, without revealing the personal data that is visible at that time. With Obfuscate, you can make text unreadable without changing the structure of the web page. Hit the extension button or press Alt+Shift+O to activate for the current page. (Note that extensions can't modify the add-on website, so trying it on there won't work.) Credit for the original idea: https://chaos.social/@maris/108379386421123630

QuickBEAM is a JavaScript runtime embedded inside the Erlang/OTP VM. If you’re building a full-stack app, JavaScript tends to leak in anyway — frontend, SSR, or third-party code. QuickBEAM runs that JavaScript inside OTP supervision trees. Each runtime is a process with a `Beam` global that can: - call Elixir code - send/receive messages - spawn and monitor processes - inspect runtime/system state It also provides browser-style APIs backed by OTP/native primitives (fetch, WebSocket, Worker, BroadcastChannel, localStorage, native DOM, etc.). This makes it usable for: - SSR…

I needed a way to let users write JavaScript to create plugins for a site I'm building. I couldn't find a solution I was happy with, so ended up building one that run's it in a web worker on a separate domain from your main site. Hopefully I haven't missed anything. If so, please let me know! My website has an interactive demo you can write code in the browser textarea, and see the output on the right. If you've built any web-based app in the last 15 years, you probably used something like Datadog, New Relic, Sentry, etc. to monitor and trace your app, right? Why should it be different when the app you're building happens to be using LLMs? So today we're open-sourcing OpenLLMetry-JS. It's an open protocol and SDK, based on OpenTelemetry, that provides traces and metrics for LLM JS/TS applications and can be connected to any of the 15+ tools that already support OpenTelemetry. Here's the repo: https://github.com/traceloop/openllmetry-js A few months ago we launched…
