Products that do what Lambda ERP – Open-source ERP you can run through chat does
Hi HN, I built Lambda ERP, an open-source ERP prototype where chat is the primary interface. It handles sales/purchase flows, invoices, payments, inventory, double-entry accounting, reports, and chat-generated analytics. There’s a live demo in the README with 3 years of simulated data, plus a Docker Compose setup if you want to run it locally. It is not production-ready yet; I’m looking for feedback on the architecture, the chat-first workflow, and whether this direction makes sense for small teams that can’t afford traditional ERP implementation projects.

For the last several years I've been creating a ERP platform, Stockor. While I'm going to continue offering it as a SaaS, I've decided to also open-source it. I'm hopeful that by doing so it will: 1) Grow it into a Wordpress size juggernaut with a plugin for any business process under the sun. 2) Bring me interesting consulting gigs. I'm Seth, creator of discourse.fm, a browser-based tool/platform to create live audio chat rooms. I just launched an extension of the site - https://hackernews.discourse.fm/ - which pulls stories in real-time from the HN site using the public API, and enables anyone to join a live audio discussion about the story (think Clubhouse rooms autogenerated for HN stories). We just made our BI v 7.0 product completely open source and free including all enterprise versions. Hence in github downloaded version, you can also get things like AI chat analytics (with bring your own LLM), multi-tenancy, embedding, SSO, RLS, report busting, paginated canned reports etc. Zero functionality difference between Community or Enterprise version. We have been using GPT to write code since playground days. This UI avoids logins, gpt-4 throttling and is also cheaper to use than ChatGPT Premium. We also have various features to minimize costs and speed up iteration. Furthermore html & mermaid previews are a taste of the kind of features help-yourself opensource model enables vs official UI. ChatMyFiles is an open-source alternative to ChatPDF: you upload any PDF or Microsoft Office document and ask questions about it. Unlike other "chat with your documents" solutions, ChatMyFiles can be self hosted using a one-click deploy script that uses Terraform to deploy a - Vector database - Server - (Optional) Open-source LLM such as Falcon, Llama, or GPT4All to your virtual private cloud (VPC).
