Hi HN, wanted to share a project that I’ve been working on recently. PodText allows users to find anything said on a podcast. You can also listen and share clips to a specific part of the podcast audio, simply by highlighting the text of that part. Currently there are just over 25k podcast episodes and I’m adding a lot more in the coming weeks (yes my GPU bill is painful). In order to monetize it, I’m building a sponsorship database to help sponsors find podcasts and vice versa. This will be sold in the form of a $99/month “PodText Business” subscription. I bet I could charge a lot more…

Hi HN, A couple months ago, a friend mentioned that there are too many great podcasts to keep up with. We searched for a solution but didn't find one and realized that many other listeners likely face the same problem. So, I built PodSnap.AI, a service that keeps track of new podcast episodes and automatically sends AI-generated text and audio summaries to your inbox as soon as they are published. This way, users can quickly get the key insights and decide whether to watch the full episode. The service supports podcasts on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. It's still beta, so I'd highly…

Hi HN - I love podcasts. I listen to them whenever I can. Yet I don’t know how people listen to more than a few per week, especially when the episodes are multiple hours long. I made Podmob so I don’t have to miss out on useful insights if I don’t have time to listen to every podcast I’d like to. Podmob uses AI to generate recaps for any podcast episode. You can choose between a few styles and lengths of the recaps you want to generate (paragraphs, chapters, bullet points, top quotes). Podmob sends a recap to your email as soon as a new episode is released for any podcast you follow or you…

I've always wanted to follow podcast guests across shows, not subscribe to entire podcasts. Most of the time the podcasts host guests which I don't really care about. When a guest you follow appears on a random podcast, they will appear as a new entry in the rss-feed for that particular guest. Hopefully some here will find that useful :D

Hey HN, I follow a lot of podcasts and the episodes are often 2-3 hours long, so I made a web app that gives me a structured podcast summary with applicable habits and recommendations. My goal isn’t to discourage you from listening to the podcast, but rather to help you decide whether the episode is worthwhile and to provide notes. The endgame is to give you a personal feed of podcasts that you follow, maybe even deliver it to your inbox or via RSS. My tech stack is quite simple - React Router(v7), node.js and PostgreSQL with Redis. I'm using OpenAI API to generate the summary from the…

Hi HN, Two things inspired me to build this: Andrej Karpathy recently talked about going back to RSS feeds — "higher quality longform and a lot less slop intended to provoke" (https://x.com/karpathy/status/2018043254986703167). Around the same time, Marc Andreessen shared his information source: 25% X, 25% podcasts with practitioners, 25% conversations with AI, 25% old books (https://x.com/pmarca/status/2030949039345467570). This made me realize how much it matters to control what you let in. But I've used to the feed-style reading habit…

Hi everyone, I just launched Podsee(https://pods.ee) for podcast listeners, lovers. You can search and listen to podcasts at Podsee. What makes it different is that you can get the AI transcript for an episode. It started as a side project after I resigned my job one year ago. As a programmer, I love Elixir (http://elixir-lang.org/) and Phoenix LiveView(https://github.com/phoenixframework/phoenix_live_view), and want to make a product with it. So I build Podsee. I'm planning to add more AI features to it, like summarize the episode audio, episode…
