My company launched a new open source web browser built on Chromium. It supports decentralized domains on Handshake and is the first browser to support .eth DNS. It is also the first browser to support secure web browsing with DANE. Check it out: https://impervious.com/beacon https://github.com/imperviousinc/beacon

Hey HN, I've been working on Hansel [1] (an encrypted personal data store you can query with agents), and there wasn't a good way to use the modern macOS Data Protection Keychain. Electron's safeStorage [2] uses the legacy file-based keychain, which allows other apps/agents to query it with the `security` CLI. Not great when you have a dozen agents running in the background! The Data Protection Keychain is nice because it limits access via code-signing access groups and lets you set access rules like Touch ID and/or password. 1: https://hansel.so/ 2.…

Hey HN, Marceau here, founder of Meemaw. I was working on a different project (communities with better aligned incentives) for which I needed users to have access to a crypto wallet. I couldn't afford users to have to deal with private keys and what not, and I did not feel comfortable being locked to a non-transparent third-party provider for something as important. So I built an internal "wallet-as-a-service" around audited librairies. I dropped the original project since then and that service evolved into Meemaw. Many "web3 projects" would be better off without any web3 component. But if…

So the main purpose here is to show _a_ way that session-token theft can be mitigated. Clearly, this isn't NSA proof or something you'd use to secure a BL5 containment facility, but to prevent session-jacking; if feels like it could help a lot, and would be pretty quick and easy to roll out if an IDP wanted to implement it.

Hi guys, I've written the first proof-of-mistake crypto token on top of Ethereum. You can see it at http://www.lostethereum.com/ It's basically a proof-of-burn substitute for users who mistakenly sent to the wrong address. It requires a web3 enabled browser, i.e chome with MetaMask, Parity, Mist, etc. This let's the web interface seamlessly interact with the Ethereum network. Let me know what you guys think.
