I started using Claude Code (claude --dangerously-skip-permissions) and Codex (codex --yolo) and realized I had no reliable way to know what they actually did. The agent's own output tells you a story, but it's the agent's story. logira records exec, file, and network events at the OS level via eBPF, scoped per run. Events are saved locally in JSONL and SQLite. It ships with default detection rules for credential access, persistence changes, suspicious exec patterns, and more. Observe-only – it never blocks. https://github.com/melonattacker/logira

Hi HN, I'm Robel. I built LogClaw because I was tired of paying for Datadog and still waking up to pages that said "something is wrong" with no context. LogClaw is an open-source log intelligence platform that runs on Kubernetes. It ingests logs via OpenTelemetry and detects anomalies using signal-based composite scoring — not simple threshold alerting. The system extracts 8 failure-type signals (OOM, crashes, resource exhaustion, dependency failures, DB deadlocks, timeouts, connection errors, auth failures), combines them with statistical z-score analysis, blast radius, error velocity, and…

Hey HN! We're excited to introduce Logwise, our new AI-powered log analysis tool. (built by two devs who hate logs) Product page: https://logwise.framer.website/ Logwise makes debugging and incident response faster for developers. It uses natural language processing to automatically parse log data, surface insights, and detect anomalies. We built Logwise to eliminate the manual sifting of log analysis. Key features: - Search logs in plain English - no complex queries needed - Auto-generated alerts highlight potential issues - Contextual debugging advice speeds incident…

I don't like the existing query languages for Elasticsearch and Grafana Loki, because they are too awkward to use for typical logs' investigation cases. So I designed new query language - LogsQL - and wrote reference implementation for it as a part of VictoriaLogs - an open source database for logs. LogsQL is based on the following principles: - Simplicity. It is easy to write typical queries over logs in it. For example, a single word `error` is a valid LogsQL query, which returns all the logs with the `error` word. Another example is `_time:5m error`, which returns all the logs with the…

Hey HN! I’m Karan, creator of Logchef (https://logchef.app), an open-source log viewer built specifically for exploring logs stored in ClickHouse. This tool grew directly out of my $day job managing massive log volumes. Like many orgs, we migrated our log workloads to ClickHouse for its performance, but found the ecosystem lacked dedicated UI tooling for actually browsing and analyzing those logs effectively. We were using Metabase, and while great for general BI, it wasn't designed for log exploration workflows. Common pain points included: - Clunky Ad-hoc Querying:…

EU legislation (which affects UK and US companies in many cases) requires being able to truly reconstruct agentic events. I've worked in a number of regulated industries off & on for years, and recently hit this gap. We already had strong observability, but if someone asked me to prove exactly what happened for a specific AI decision X months ago (and demonstrate that the log trail had not been altered), I could not. The EU AI Act has already entered force, and its Article 12 kicks-in in August this year, requiring automatic event recording and six-month retention for high-risk systems,…

Hi, Wanted to share something I've been working on for over a year. AuditBadger is a compliance management platform that uses AI to write policies (there are underlying "templates" with basic requirements), rewrite controls (or trust service criterions) to match the company context, help figure out your own controls, does initial risk assessment, and business continuity planning (which at least gives you an example of how the process should look like). Fun fact - I wanted to share this a year ago, but then I spotted something similar here. The most common comment was about lacking the SOC 2…
