I built a minimal browser game where you have to make 67 from four numbers. https://simondarcyonline.com/67/

Hey everyone, I'm Fabio, a very long time lurker here. Today I want to celebrate and share with you, again, a game that I conceived more than 8 years ago. I shared it last week with all its history (if you're curious) [1], but it just stayed in the "shownew" and never reached the main "show" page, hopefully this time it'll do better (:crossed_fingers:)! What changed since last week? Today I've also published the mobile apps for both iOS and Android (last week it was just web), which are also my first mobile apps ever. So I believe it's still a worthwhile post and something to show :) I'd…

A fun little game idea I had last year after building a personal kb based bit manipulator to have a better sense of the binary space. All sounds and graphics are my own.

Hey HN, I built Bisecto (https://bisecto.com), a minimalist browser game with one simple mechanic, cutting (bisecting) a procedural 2D shape into two exact 50/50 halves with a single straight line. Confession: I got completely hooked watching those viral reels of people trying to cut fruits and vegetables into perfectly equal halves, and that was my inspiration for this game :D I've been writing code for 12+ years, but for this project I leaned heavily on LLMs to quickly spin up this game, I thought it's going to be quick, but it took me some time (around 2 weeks) to make the…

This is an idea I’ve been kicking around for a long time, and I decided to finally code it up. In the same way that Scrabble decomposes words into letters, what if there was a game that decomposed letters into sub-shapes? There’s a lot of directions this could go, and I’m still exploring the possibility space. Enjoy. Suggestions welcome. It doesn’t have a real name yet.

It's like a mix between Picross (Nonograms) and Polyominoes. It's a minimalist puzzler which has no text, no tutorials (none required) and no ads set in a relaxing environment. App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/shapeuku-shape-puzzle-game/i... Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dtbgames.s... I have a bulk load of Android promo codes to give away, so if you'd like one let me know! (Sorry iOS users, I have no free codes left!)

Hi HN, I'd like to share a logic number puzzle game I created! It is somewhat reminiscent of Sudoku and Minesweeper, but with its own twist. The rules are simple but it can be quite challenging! Please enjoy :) The feedback on the game prototype was invaluable and I incorporated a lot into what I hope is a more polished version of the game. What's new: Introduced a daily puzzle challenge. Dark mode. Enhanced user experience with improved UI. I'd love to hear your thoughts on these updates. Feedback is always appreciated!

Hi all! This is a game I made where you try to make an equation from today's date, using every digit in order. I had a substitute math teacher in middle school who did this on the whiteboard one day, and I've been doing it for fun every so often since. I was inspired by wordle to make it into a daily web game, but unlike wordle and other games in that genre, you don't need to guess one specific solution. Any valid equation works. I found that mechanic more enjoyable and let me focus on just the math. Each day does have a "canonical" solution that you can gradually reveal with the Hint…

Hi HN! This is my first game — something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a small browser game built with Phaser 3, React, and the phaser template (https://github.com/phaserjs/template-react-ts/). I made it in 2 days (like 8 hours in total real time) using gemini-cli. About 90% of the code was generated with AI, but I learned a lot by making fine tweaks. It only works on PC since it’s a typical WASD + R (reload) shooter. I’d love feedback on: - Gameplay (is it fun, too hard?) - Ideas for new features Thanks in advance! ps: I used cubes as a prototype, but now I kind of…

Hello HackerNews, I'm Kaamkiya, the author of this program. It's a collection of minimal games made for terminals, like 2048, Hangman, and even two player games like pong. They're all text-based, but they can actually be quite fun. If you want to test it right now, you can do this: go run github.com/Kaamkiya/gg@latest I started this project out of boredom, honestly. I was bored, and when I'm bored I like to code or play video games. So I coded video games. I kept them really minimal though, because I'm not great at gamedev and thought it would be easier to contribute to text-based…
