Products that do what Manage research papers from your CLI does
I built this because I started reading a lot of arXiv papers and wanted a quick way to store and download them. Features: - Add a bunch of arXiv papers to Notion with auto-populated title/URL/date/authors in one command - Download PDFs of any papers you haven't saved yet in one command

I’ve been frustrated with PDFs and found arXiv HTML lacking, so I built a fully interactive paper reader. Features: • Hover references, citations, equations • Light/dark mode • Auto-generated dependency graphs for definitions/lemmas/theorems • Table of contents that syncs with scroll • Highlighting + annotations • “Copy raw LaTeX” anywhere Featured paper: Video models are zero-shot learners and reasoners (Veo 3) https://www.sciencestack.ai/arxiv/2509.20328v2

I created this tool over the weekend because, as someone interested in AI and technology, I find many research papers on arXiv fascinating but often incredibly dense and difficult to understand due to the heavy jargon and technical language. I wanted to make these complex topics more accessible to laypeople like myself by converting the topics described in these papers into full-length books that break down key concepts, making cutting-edge research easier to grasp. You can think of it as generating prerequisite reading materials before being able to read the actual paper. Here are some…

As a researcher, I created SmartXiv to solve a problem I faced every day: keeping up with the overwhelming number of research papers uploaded to arXiv. With over 1000 new papers each day, finding the most relevant research was time-consuming and exhausting. I needed a smarter way to stay updated. What SmartXiv Does • Personalized Recommendations: Using advanced AI, SmartXiv analyzes your interests and sends you daily emails with research papers that align with your preferences. •Efficient Research: By curating the latest papers for you, SmartXiv saves you hours of research. • Fully…

Almost one year ago I asked HN if anybody is interested to make a Web app to make reading and finding scientific papers smarter [http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1664648]. No one did, at least no one did what "I" think is the best way to approach this problem. A a few month ago I decided to do it myself.<p>Meet JournalClub iPad app (absolutely free), http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/journalclub/id443819334? I have a recommendation engine in the pipeline that I would introduce in the next update (hopefully in a month or so). I really appreciate any comments, feedbacks.

I got tired of copy-pasting arXiv PDFs / HTML into LLMs and fighting references, TOCs, and token bloat. So I basically made gitingest.com but for arxiv papers. You can just append "2md" to any arxiv URL (with HTML support), and you'll be given a clean markdown version, and the ability to trim what you wish very easily (ie cut out references, or appendix, etc.)

Hey HN! I built arXiv News (https://arxiv-news.com) – a discussion space for research papers. The problem: I browse arXiv constantly for new papers, but there's nowhere good to discuss them. Twitter is chaotic, Reddit is fragmented, and arXiv itself has no comments. So I cloned HN's design (using https://github.com/clintonwoo/hackernews-react-graphql) and applied it to arXiv. Upvote papers, comment, sort by hot/new/discussed, filter by category, post ideas/papers you've found. A daily scraper pulls all new papers automatically. I'd love to hear…

I created a tool that consolidates information from the following inputs: GitHub repository URL (e.g., https://github.com/jimmc414/onefilellm) arXiv abstract URL (e.g., https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.14295) Local folder path (e.g., C:\python\PipMyRide) Youtube video URL (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ_NlnmPQYk) Webpage URL (e.g., https://llm.datasette.io/en/stable/) It outputs the repo, web documentation, arXiv paper or YT transcript to a text file and the clipboard, displaying a token count. It also…

I've been using LLMs for long discovery and research chats (papers, repos, best practices), then distilling that into phased markdown (build plan + tests), then handing those phases to Codex/Claude to implement and test phase by phase. The annoying part was always the distillation and keeping docs and architecture current, so I built Unpack: a lightweight GitHub template plus docs structure and a few commands that turns conversations into phases/specs and keeps project docs up to date as the agent builds. It can also generate Mintlify-friendly end-user docs. There are other…

ResearchPRO is Notion-Chrome Extension that allows you to do two things: (1) Create and categorize web-highlights on any website or pdf and sync them in real-time into Notion. With buckets, and the SHIFT SHIFT shortcut, you can do this all on the fly. Defining a new bucket or category, creates a toggleable lists of grouped highlights in the Notion page of your choosing, which allows you to keep track of ideas and references across different articles. (2) Export bibliographies for a given research “topic.” Of course this just allows you to bucket links related to a given topic, if you need to…

Hey HN! I wanted to practice "vibe coding" and see how far and fast I can go by only prompting, without actual coding. I decided to make a simple CLI app that scrapes web docs into a single md file (I was annoyed that LLM keeps writing Tailwind 3 code for a Tailwind 4 project). In just a couple of hours, the CLI app was ready! Then iterated on arguments for another couple of hours. Result: https://github.com/vladstudio/web2llm Then I decided to go further and "productize" the CLI by making a web app for it. Another half-day, and the web app is ready!…

My wife recently started her PhD and while she uses Zotero as a citation manager, she was really missing a tool for keeping track of what she's reading right now/has already read/needs to read next. This overwhelming experience might be familiar to other researchers working on a niche field where every paper is called pretty much the same thing So I built her Paperstack. It's basically Goodreads, but for research papers: - Save articles to familiar To Read/Reading/Read stacks - Tag articles with logical projects/chapters/whatever your system is - Get…

I got the idea of [mindmap.so](http://mindmap.so/) out of my own frustration of managing my personal notes in Notion and Miro in parallel. I have built it 3 months back on top of excalidraw, posted it in Reddit a couple of times, and never looked back (was using it only for personal use). Little did I know that the small and nimble tool that I created has crossed 2000+ users (was so surprised when I saw the dashboard last week). It was all organic and word of mouth . Having 2000+ users trusting a product is no easy feat. That’s when I thought may be I should put some more…

The project aims to organize computer science research in a logical, simple, and easy-to-follow way. It is designed to help us find papers worth reading first. I started building Trending Papers because following computer science research has become increasingly hard as the pace of innovation accelerates. The number of new articles on Arxiv has grown at 27% CAGR for the past 20 years. 240 new papers have been filed daily on average over the past 12 months. And the number is growing: last month, there were well over 300 new papers on average every single day. The system is based on some…

I’ve been working on something called Davia — a platform for creating interactive documents. These are “living documents”: each page is self-contained, combining editable content, interactive components, and data. You can read them, edit them, and actually interact with them — more like mini-apps than static docs. Here’s what makes it interesting: The interactive components are pieces of code generated on the fly, so you’re not limited to a fixed set of blocks like in Notion. You can create infinitely flexible functionality right inside a doc. Technically, an interactive page is an ensemble…

This is a tool which lets you easily manage different versions of ideas, helpful for writing essays. I've found myself wanting this every single time I go through the drafting process when writing, and I've been frustrated every time I find myself accidentally working on an old draft just because there was a paragraph that I liked better. This solves it. I hope the community like this as much I enjoyed working on it! Note that it's currently a beta waitlist because there's some bugs with the undo/redo state management and so I want to dogfood it for a bit for reliability. It says April…
