We built any-llm because we needed a lightweight router for LLM providers with minimal overhead. Switching between models is just a string change : update "openai/gpt-4" to "anthropic/claude-3" and you're done. It uses official provider SDKs when available, which helps since providers handle their own compatibility updates. No proxy or gateway service needed either, so getting started is pretty straightforward - just pip install and import. Currently supports 20+ providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, and AWS Bedrock. Would love to hear what you think!

Scan every LLM API call for PII and injection attacks

I'm a solo dev in Taiwan. I built 4 AI agents that handle content, sales leads, security scanning, and ops for my tech agency — all on Gemini 2.5 Flash free tier (1,500 req/day). I use ~105. Monthly LLM cost: $0. Architecture: 4 agents on OpenClaw (open source), running on WSL2 at home with 25 systemd timers. What they do every day: - Generate 8 social posts across platforms (quality-gated: generate → self-review → rewrite if score < 7/10) - Engage with community posts and auto-reply to comments (context-aware, max 2 rounds) - Research via RSS + HN API + Jina Reader → feed…

Hey HN, I built browser-use, an open-source alternative to OpenAI’s Operator for browser-use systems, and here’s why I think it’s better: Flexibility: You can use any LLM with our tool – Gemini, Anthropic, Qwen, Llama, DeepSeek, and more. As new models improve, so does your agent. Open Source: No need to pay $200/month or endure long waitlists – it’s free and accessible to everyone today. Custom Automation: Our Python package allows you to build actual web automations. Your LLM can gain new tools, like file uploads. Cost: Our system is 30x cheaper than Operator, e.g., when used with…

Hey HN, I've been using OpenClaw for a few months as my local LLM gateway. It was genuinely fun — the convenience of routing multiple models through a single endpoint is hard to beat. But along the way, I stumbled upon a few surprises that made me uncomfortable: - Config files scattered in unexpected places (~/.openclaw, ~/.clawdbot, and more) - Background processes that respawn after termination - Logs that quietly accumulate without rotation - Cached data persisting long after I thought I'd removed it None of this is necessarily malicious, but when I decided to move on, I wanted…

Hi HN, Matvey, Ildar, Joey, and Dominik here. If you're building LLM agents that use tools, you're probably worried about prompt injection attacks that can hijack those tools. We were too, and found that solutions like prompt-based filtering or secondary "guard" LLMs can be unreliable. Our thesis is that agent security should be handled at the network level between the agent and the LLM, just like a traditional web application firewall. So we built Archestra Platform: an open-source gateway that acts as a secure proxy for your AI agents. It's designed to be a deterministic firewall against…

Hi HN, We’re building https://www.switchpoint.dev – a drop-in replacement for OpenAI’s API that reduces LLM cost by smartly routing across models (e.g., Claude, Gemini, GPT-4) depending on subject and difficulty of the task. Why we built this: LLM costs are spiraling—especially for products doing retrieval, agentic reasoning, or even just high-volume chat. We were frustrated with paying GPT-4 rates when most queries didn’t need it. So we built a router that: - Starts with cheaper/free models (like Llama 8B, 4o-mini, 2.0 flash) - Streams responses and upgrades on failure - Acts…

Hi HN! This is Adil, Salman, Co and Shuguang and we're excited to introduce archgw [1], an open source intelligent proxy for agents built on Envoy [2]. Arch moves the critical but crufty work around safety, observability, and routing of prompts outside business logic. Arch is a uniquely intelligent infrastructure primitive, engineered with purpose-built fast LLMs [3] for tasks like intent detection over multi-turn, parameter identification and extraction, triggering single/multiple function calls, and offers convenience features to auto dispatch LLM calls for summarization based on data…
