Good morning HN! For a while now I have been toying with this idea and now finally have a working prototype. This project allows you to encode secret messages into ordinary looking text by using arithmetic coding with a probability model derived from an LLM. By encrypting the message and then decompressing the encrypted message using the arithmetic coder, you get output which looks just like randomly sampled output from the LLM. Except, it actually encodes your secret messages in the specific choices of tokens. By using authenticated encryption, only a user who knows the key can know that a…

Current AI-assisted CLI tools are often part of larger systems and work better on Linux. I built llm-term to address these. It's a Rust-based tool that compiles into a single binary file. You only need to download the binary, add it to your PATH, and configure your OpenAI key to get started. While llm-term offers an option for gpt-4o, it works great with gpt-4o-mini. So it's not costly. I appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

Hello HN, I’ve been building AI agents lately and ran into a common "Context Bloat" problem. When an agent has 20+ skills, stuffing every system prompt, reference doc, and tool definition into a single request quickly hits token limits and degrades model performance (the "lost in the middle" problem). To solve this, I built OpenSkills, an open-source SDK that implements a Progressive Disclosure Architecture for agent skills. The Core Concept: Instead of loading everything upfront, OpenSkills splits a skill into three layers: Layer 1 (Metadata): Light-weight tags and triggers (always loaded…

Multi-tier exact-match cache for AI agents backed by Valkey or Redis. LLM responses, tool results, and session state behind one connection. Framework adapters for LangChain, LangGraph, and Vercel AI SDK. OpenTelemetry and Prometheus built in. No modules required - works on vanilla Valkey 7+ and Redis 6.2+. Shipped v0.1.0 yesterday, v0.2.0 today with cluster mode. Streaming support coming next. Existing options locked you into one tier (LangChain = LLM only, LangGraph = state only) or one framework. This solves both. npm:…

Zep is a long-term memory store designed for conversational AI applications built using modern LLMs. It handles the storage, summarization, embedding, indexing, and enrichment of chat histories, and offers developers a simple, low-latency API to this data. Chat history storage is an infrastructure challenge all developers and enterprises face as they look to move from prototypes to deploying conversational AI applications that provide rich and intimate experiences to users. Key features include long-term memory persistence, auto-summarization, vector search, auto-token counting, and Python…

We’re building an open-source tool that makes it easy to expose secure, LLM-optimized APIs on top of your structured data—without manually designing endpoints or worrying about compliance. AI agents and LLM-powered applications need structured access to data, but traditional APIs and databases weren’t built with AI workloads in mind. Our tool automatically generates APIs that: - Filter out PII & sensitive data to comply with GDPR, CPRA, SOC 2, and other regulations. - Provide traceability & auditing, so AI apps aren’t black boxes, and security teams stay in control. - Optimize for AI…
