I started https://signalprocessingjobs.com/ to organize a couple of side projects I have: - a job board for signal processing engineers - Journal2MATLAB: a blog that turns academic papers into MATLAB code - some work on using cocotb for verifying DSP HDL - and some MATLAB code snippets i keep coming back to Hope others in the community find it useful :)

Hi, I am David Kircos. The Founder of Quadratic (https://QuadraticHQ.com), an open-source spreadsheet application that supports Python, SQL (coming soon), AI Prompts, and classic Formulas. Unlike other spreadsheets, Quadratic has an infinite canvas (like Figma). As a result, you can pinch and zoom to navigate large data sets, and everything renders smoothly at 60fps. Our vision is to build a place where your team can collaborate on data analysis. You can write Python, AI Prompts, and Formulas in one spreadsheet feeding each other data and updating automatically. Quadratic is built…

Hsdlib is a small C library for fast vector distance and similarity calculations. At the moment, it supports: - Euclidean, Manhattan, and Hamming distances - Dot product, cosine, and Jaccard similarities Hsdlib uses SIMD acceleration (AVX, AVX2, AVX512, NEON, and SVE instructions) to speed things up. Why build this? MATLAB wasn’t chosen by engineers; it was inherited from classrooms. That unfair advantage let MathWorks sell a decades-old runtime with heavy startup, sluggish hot loops, and paywalled toolboxes. It milks about $500M a year out of the engineering ecosystem for what amounts to an outdated compiler and runtime stack. GNU Octave has been the main open-source way to run MATLAB code but it only supports a subset of the grammar and semantics, and its performance is far behind modern expectations. It’s more of a compatibility bridge than a true runtime alternative. I decided to…

This solves no real problem — Element works, there's already a Matrix-to-IRC bridge running on half the FOSS networks, and probably nobody under 30 has opened irssi voluntarily this decade. I wrote it anyway because I miss Esc 4 and clunky window-split commands. Matrirc is a local IRC server that speaks Matrix on the back. Point irssi at localhost:6667, log in with Matrix creds, rooms show up as channels. brew tap pawelb0/tap brew install matrirc
