A friend and I built a small multipurpose digital compositing tool meant to provide most of what you'd need for day-to-day meme-making, image markups, and collage creation in a static web app. Combines what I love about web platforms like Canva with a lower barrier to entry than heavyweight tools like the beloved Photopea. As you can tell, it's heavily influenced by Mark Bao's threewords.me. The concept is simple, upload three pics and let your friends vote on them. In fact, I think I may have ripped the concept off a post about threewords.me. Anyways... I got to pondering the quickest way to save a random image so I could get to it on all of my devices, got a wee bit carried away with the technical possibilities, and this was the result. I made an image sharing application to compete with Imgur. Chances are it's not going to take over Imgur any time soon, so I figured I'd open source it. Stack: * Symfony w/ PHP 5.5 * Postgres 9.2 * Redis 2.8 * Ruby 2.0 (Capistrano) * Vagrant It's a fairly basic Symfony application but also makes use of a lot of Symfony components. I had 14,000 photos sitting on a drive and wanted an excuse to play with local vision models and Elixir/Phoenix. I originally tried to get LLaVA to tell me if a photo was 'good' or matched my style, but quickly learned that LLMs have terrible taste. I ended up demoting the LLM to just extract metadata, and built a custom CLIP/Ridge Regression pipeline to actually learn my preferences based on how I rate things. I built a minimal opensource CMS, I use it myself for my blog and for other SaaS. l love blogging, and sometimes I post random thoughts on my blog. The only thing is, I always did it with .md files, which is fine too However, I was excited about the idea of using a CMS that was very minimal and avoiding the option of connecting something like WordPress or other big platforms. Open source (if you want to fork it or contribute) and free to use (unless I see you have a million views haha). Star the repo if you like it!
