Products that do what Missing slash-command package for Emacs does

Slash command is quite popular on new document editors, so I try to replicate to Emacs so you can use same behavior in org-mode, markdown-mode or any mode that you want

Hey all, As a CEO of a growing startup I don't get to code as often as I like and when I do, I try not to annoy my team with my terrible code :) So to scratch the itch, I've built some of side projects related to what our company does. The latest is embedcurl.com I see a lot of API docs and blogs posting curl commands that are really hard to read and I figured I could make them easier to read and add some niceties like easier copy/paste, tooltips on flags, etc. They also gracefully degrade if javascript isn't enabled back to a element. The parsing is done in Python with shlex and…

I'm not the author of the app (nor i have any connection with them, just a random user). iA Writer and Writer Pro aren't well suited for me as a developer. They feel quite "strange" to me. Mou is a good option (free too) but still missing some features. So far this, this editor is the most complete user-friendly. Hope it helps!

I read Markdown all day, mostly Claude .md, and other AI outputs. Every app I have tried felt janky or too much work to just read an md file. I just wanted to open a .md file and read it the way Preview opens a PDF. So I built Kite, a Markdown reader for Mac. It has QuickLook just like Preview and I have baked in features that help people reading lot's of AI markdowns. It one-time purchase, no subscription. I put it on TestFlight so you can try it before paying anything. I would really like this crowd to try to break it. Tell me which files render wrong, what feels off, what is missing.…

I built a collection of professional slash commands for Anthropic's Claude Code that provide structured workflows for common software development tasks. These commands are directly inspired by and adapted from Anthropic's own claude-code-best-practices (https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/claude-code-best-practices) documentation, translating their recommendations into executable workflows. The suite includes commands for: • Comprehensive code reviews with security and performance analysis • End-to-end feature development with planning, implementation, and testing •…

I have been coding over four decades, in many languages, on many projects (including Firefox, Final Cut Pro, the Newton, and Fullwrite Professional if you can remember that far back; all these using my "dead-name"). I wrote something small and simple to scratch an itch. It's the UNIX philosophy: small "one-trick ponies", each *really* good at their one trick, then the user can hook them together to solve actual problems. I'm a CLI guy, and for almost everything, I already have this. But not for debugging. The itch I scratched was the connector that enables this philosophy for debugging. That…

Hey HN, if you are a developer you will probably know the following situation: You are going to a certain project directory and then you are searching for this one command which was specific to this project or you just want to go through the last commands you typed into your shell while you were working in this directory. If you ever had this problem and are using Zsh, you should check out this zsh plugin I wrote: https://github.com/tymm/directory-history Let me know what you think!
