Products that do what Mobile Prototyping App I've been working on over 3 years does

Hi I'm the developer of UX-App if you have any questions then fire away :) Just thought I'd give you all some background. I'm a high school teacher by day and developer by night. I was bitten by the start-up bug a few years ago and UX-App is my first product launch. In between a full time job and a 5 month old at home it has taken about 3.5 years to complete the project. I'd like to think its a unique product that holds its own against the existing competition and even has some features that no other tool has. My favorite aspect is the visual code builder which allows designers to easily…

Hello. This year I dived into UI/UX area and at the same time I work as a web developer. I sincerely love making good UI. But at my full time job it's not always possible due to different reasons =\ So I've been posting random UI/UX staff on Twitter, then I made a free book that had 50 tips (posted it here as well). I decided to finish this year by collecting everything I learned and here it is: https://akcium.gumroad.com/l/ui-ux-tips. This time it's a paid one. But, you can check ~20 pages of it, just go to…

Hi HN, After watching a lot of Show HN's here, it's finally my turn to show something. This is the first real project I have shipped, so it is extra special to me. For those who will inevitably ask why I made yet another mockup editor I covered it on our blog (http://blog.mocktailsapp.in/why-build-yet-another-mockup-editor-tm). Not all the features mentioned in that post have been implemented yet. As such Mocktails is pre-beta software and very minimal. It does not even have user accounts or any actual server side component at all for that matter (yet)! Our intention is to build Mocktails…

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.wtfsoftware.wtfgeneratorfunnypics I submit it as a proof that in 14 days anyone can become a (crappy) programmer :) I'm 32, educated in humanities, I work in a bookstore and in my entire life I have never tried programming. Just a typical user, I knew basic HTML, like adding bold to text etc. Few months ago I started lurking on hackernews, I read about CodeAcademy and decided to learn how to code JavaScript. Fast-forward 14 days: Wow, it's easier than I thought;) Here's my first app. It's written in Javascript and compiled in Appcelerator Titanium.…

Over the past three months, I’ve been working with my dad on this app as a way to learn Cursor, shadcn/ui, and Next.js. I’m currently studying UX design at the University of Michigan, and I’ve been really impressed by how much vibe-coding tools have advanced over the last six months. This work journal includes private AI-generated insights with scheduled summaries that can be shared with your team or manager. You can also choose to make a summary public—like I’ve done here for my work on this web app: https://www.workjourney.ai/summary/mkblt2zt-hn2kdbus If anyone has…

Hey my name is Ivo and I'm a developer and a startup entusiast. My girlfriend was out of the coutry for the weekend and I decided to do something cool like building a startup. I've done a few startups over the years but that's the first I actually released, I would love to hear your feedback on it.

We did a "Show HN post" 6 months back of our startup and we're very excited to show everyone how far we've come as well as the lessons we've learnt so far! It's been a roller-coaster so far and we think there's lot more of the same to come! We did apply for Ycombinator funding but got turned down :( But may re-apply soon :) For those that don't know, our startup is called Scirra and we make Construct 2 which is an HTML5 game engine (http://www.scirra.com). Our engine allows anyone to make HTML5 games without knowing any programming. It's only me and my brother working on this and we're based…

Hi HN, I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them. I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes. So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc,…

Hi HN. I am not new to programming but very new to react-native. I thought I would share my first react-native application ever with HN for your comments. I have a day job as an enterprise developer and every day for 2 weeks I worked on my 60 minute bus ride in to work on this application from the front end to the back end. The biggest challenge was my relative inexperience with mobile development and my lack of design / ux creativity. The Android Play store submission was really easy however the Apple App Store submission took about 3 versions before it was accepted. Link to app on…

Hello HN! I got pretty overwhelmed with Notion, Trello, etc. (Even though they are great tools!) as an indie dev, so I built an app that is simpler to use and perfectly suited for an indie like me :) You can basically divide your projects into multiple milestones (a milestone could be e.g. a new version), and the milestones can have multiple tasks that are either todo, in progress, or done. The progress for each milestone is calculated with those tasks, and you can also prioritize and categorize the tasks using tags (E.g. for me, #ph turns into "High Priority", and #pm into "Medium…

Hi HN! Solo developer here. 10 days ago, I started building this after spending countless hours copying/pasting marketing sections and fighting to keep them consistent with our design system. I wondered: "What if AI could understand our design system and generate React components that actually match it?" Current progress (10 days in): - Can generate hero sections that follow your design tokens - Uses your actual component variants and styles - Works with Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui It's very early days, but I'm excited to share it with other devs who: - Are tired of rebuilding…

I have ignored high paying jobs/ several contracting gigs to build Xervmon.com. I would really appreciate help to test the UI for UX. I want folks who can be brutal about the tool and give a feedback on which we can improve the UI and UX. The UI does standout, but to what level it stands out, I am not sure. One catch : You need to sign up to navigate through UI. First I was shy to show my work, then angry and upset when users commented and now am shameless. Be my guest and give me feedback so I can take it as another challenge to improve the user experience.

Hi HN, I’ve been working the past year on something called Prototyper , and today we’re opening up the new version. The motivation is simple: whenever I built products in the past, I noticed the best ideas came after the “first version.” You try something, it feels wrong, you change it, repeat. Most tools make that painful. Prototyper is my attempt to make that loop natural—so you can explore ideas quickly instead of forcing them through a rigid workflow. This release includes: instant updates (no compile/refresh lag) simplified UI (months spent just removing steps) responsive by…

Hey all, I'm a product designer and I built this cause' when I was designing liquidity pool and staking features for this DAO, I didn't know how the user flow worked and how the UI looked for similar pages, so I was constantly switching back and forth Balancer, Uniswap, and OlympusDAO as references. I thought that I might not be the only one with this problem, so I built this library of userflow screenshots, and annotated them, to share with the web3 community of builders, designers, and developers. Would love feedback if you're a builder in web3, let's connect too! (Also I'm aware that…

Hey HN, A few years ago, when I was working as a freelance web developer, there were many projects that used repetitive layouts and designs That's when I built my own collection of basic UI components like buttons and all. At that time, I was using CSS, so I styled my components using CSS. Later, I decided to open-source these components, and that’s when I created HextaUI After a few months, I found out about Tailwind CSS, so I decided to recreate all components with better design, modularity, and accessibility. This time, I also added animated components, not just base components. After…

I've been specializing in UI for over a decade. Using code for UI is great but I always wished there was a more visual code to build apps and sites. So I went ahead and built it. Decided to build it with Compose Multiplatform since I work a lot with Kotlin. Currently exports to CMP as it was simpler due to the context switch. You can try it for free and export some apps
