Hi HN. I had faced an issue where I wanted to know how a place I was travelling to looked like. Like everyone else I looked at google maps and snap chat too. But Google streetview images were usually old and snapchat snaps lacked control. So I built GeoQuests for anyone who wants to know what’s going on on Earth. You drop a quest at a real location. People see it on the map, go there, and complete it by taking a photo when they’re close enough. GeoStripper is an open-source Android App that solves a problem I have: when I share photos online, I don't always want to share where a particular photo was taken. If your smartphone camera app records your GPS location when you take a picture and stores it in EXIF metadata, whenever you upload or SMS or otherwise share that photo, this geo-location information can be used without your knowledge. I find myself often texting people, "where are you?" so I wrote this little iPhone app that lets me text them a special link. When they click the link, it uses the HTML5 geolocation API to report their location and shows it on a map. http://whru.at/ It's only as accurate as the HTML5 geolocation API, but I've been finding it pretty useful. What do you think?
