Products that do what My Faceted Search Interface for Twitter - http://tweetsvu.com does

For my final year project of my CS degree, I'm building a Faceted Search interface for Twitter. Essentially it will allow facets to be used to filter the results that are returned from a search on Twitter. My initial prototype can be seen at: http://tweetsvu.com The graphs are interactive and the temporal graph in particular allows filtering of the results by time range. I'm using Python and the Flask framework, with Twitter Boostrap for the styling, and Google Chart Tools for the graphs. It is hosted at Epio. The implementation is currently fairly slow because of requests to other APIs…

I've been wanting a "pro-feel" Twitter stats dashboard for a while now. Inspired by Geckoboard I built TweetBoard.me If you're a Twitter power user you might like it :) Looks best in full screen! Note: There were problems when first launched but now it should be working at the real address: http://TweetBoard.me (Not working on mobile)

We built a search engine that shows you the most engaging stories/topics being shared across Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and Google+. We crawled over 15 million articles the past 3 months, retrieved the total number of Facebook likes, tweets, Google+’s etc and built a search index around it. Here's what our infrastructure looks like: Rails/Redis: We use the Sidekiq gem as a message queue. We have hundreds of workers that do the crawling, data mining, and number crunching. ElasticSearch: We built the search index using ElasticSearch, with the data imported from our Postgres…

I had an idea a couple days ago and I went with it. Basically, the idea was to create an IRC channel to help people find jobs; computer related jobs, in particular. There would be a bot to display job listings. So I started working on a first take on the bot. I decided to use Python because I love the language and I wanted to get more experience with a its libraries. TwitterBot (or JobFeeder on ##jobfeed) as I call it, uses Twisted (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/Twisted) and Twitter (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/twitter)for now. Basically, it gets the…

This is something fun I’ve been hacking on recently: ridiculously simple group chat. Go to http://faces.io and then get your friends to do the same. That’s it! :-D Currently works best in Chrome. It’s definitely beta status at best. Audio can get weird—be ready to mute. ;-) Let me know what you think!

I decided to cut all the other features and just release the startup I have been working on for the last few months. http://seekier.com I hate to put it like this, but look at it as a twitter for sharing what you search. Seekier lets you see what others are searching, allows you to share your own searches, and discover more through discussion. Please let me know what you think of the idea and concept. There may be bugs because I decided to just release it. Thanks! If you decide to register, be great if you posted your profile.

(Musk might not be thrilled about this, but here goes nothing!) I use Twitter Bookmarks a ton having bookmarked hundreds of tweets over the years ... all saved with the hope of revisiting them eventually. Sound familiar? It's fine if these were random tweets, but they're not. They're the cream of the crop, meticulously selected by me. Ironically, they just end up neglected in the bookmarks tab. So that's why I built Twitter Bookmarks: - Auto-categorizes your saved tweets - Search tweets by any category you like (think Bootstrapping, Fundraising, and more) - Export to CSV/JSON Just…

I've always dreamed about a project like that when looking at status boards at other companies. We finally had the time to do our own. Here are some photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robert_olejnik/sets/72157633736087905/ The stack: Django, mustache.js, Chart.js, Bootstrap and custom Supybot plugin. Maybe will be inspiration for someone else ;-) Do you guys have similar status boards? Cheers, Robert.

I recently finished the Front-End Web Development program at General Assembly in San Francisco. My final project turned out being a quick, easy, and free way to convert a Tweet into various properly formatted citations. Hi HN, I missed proper search on Bluesky, like Twitter used to have, so I built this. You can filter posts and profiles by keyword, handle, time and other search operators. Would love feedback or ideas for what to add next.
