Hey all! I've been using this stack personally for a while now and decided to automate it a bit by turning it into a template I can reuse. Hope others might find it helpful!

I love Streamlit but have run into many situation where taking it from PoC to MVP state is insurmountable. With all the recent HN hype around htmx and sematic html / classless css I decided to build a Streamlit alternative using these on top of FastAPI. This has a couple advantages: 1) easier to extend when you move past PoC since the FastAPI app is exposed (allowing adding more routes) and hstream acts more like a typical web stack 2) with htmx and html (plus MVP.css) doing the heavy lifting the package is alot less complex and easier to reason about - and hopefully more performant…

Try it at: ssh krnl.duetbrowser.com No sign up, totally free - no download. Let me know what you think. This is a real TUI browser rendering the web as ANSI with its own layout engine. The backend is Google cloud run, running browserbox and the Krnl TUI browser and it is routed through a simple SSH server endpoint. Prior art exists (brow.sh) but I wasn't satisfied with their graphical take. I wanted the raw, old skool terminal days of the early internet - BBS, and old green phosphor library comptuers - but running the modern web, with all the bells and jingle jangle whistles (JavaScript,…

Hi HN, I'm Giovanni, founder of Userware. We built XAML.io, a free browser-based IDE for C# and XAML that compiles and runs .NET projects entirely client-side via WebAssembly. No server-side build step. The link above opens a sample project using Newtonsoft.Json. Click Run to compile and execute it in your browser. You can edit the code, add NuGet packages, and share your project via a URL. What's new in v0.6: - NuGet package support (any library compatible with Blazor WebAssembly) - Code sharing via URL with GitHub-like forking and attribution - XAML autocompletion, AI error fixing, split…

Hi there, Zero Stars here. I recently published some new work to Hokusai Pocket, which is a cross-platform binary made on top of raylib and MRuby that runs GUIs from ruby scripts. License? MIT! How does it work? The binary is available on the GitHub releases page: https://github.com/skinnyjames/hokusai-pocket/releases/tag/0... You can download the binary on x86 Windows, OSX, or Linux, and run your GUI application with hokusai-pocket run:target="" For a little bit of a hello world, I started a photoshop clone…

Hello everybody! I just finished a hobby project. It is a F# library for creating Mermaid graph YAML. I used Fable to transpile to JS (+types) and python, and added a convenience C# access layer. This means you have a nice API for creating Mermaid graphs in 4 languages. My documentation also includes code examples for all languages and a blogpost on library design. Would appreciate feedback!

Hi, We’ve built Pantheon-CLI, an fully open-source project that aims to be the “Python Claude Code + Notebook” — but designed for data analysis instead of just coding. Unlike most AI coding assistants, Pantheon-CLI runs entirely on your machine (or server). No data upload required. It blends natural language and code in a single workflow, keeping variables in memory and letting you switch seamlessly between typing code and asking in plain English. What it does: 1. Chat with your data: Directly process CSV, Excel, AnnData, Pickle, Torch tensors, or any format supported by…

A while ago I started this side project to test if I could build a rich User Interface that would have about the same level of responsiveness than a "SPA-like" app, but using only htmx[1]... I still have plenty of stuff in my roadmap, but today it's in a playable state and I thought it could be interesting to share it - as it may be a nice demonstration of a relatively rich user interface powered by htmx :-) --> https://zakuchess.com As for the stack: it's built mostly with Django, htmx and Tailwind CSS. It uses a SQLite database, and is hosted (for free) at Fly. The characters'…

I made this as a pair programming exercise with o1-preview. o1 did most of the heavy lifting, through high level prompts, but eventually I needed to diverge from it to get to completion. My initial prompt was: --- I'm making a web app: It's like 4chan, but each thread starts with a gps coordinate. People can only post text and images. I want to build it with flask and sqlalchemy. I want just the backend and data model that supports these threads, anonymous users, and users that can register a permanent username. Write as much of it as you can for me. --- This produced a fully scaffolded…
