We built it from the ground up, minimal Linux based operating system (written in go and rust), messaging system written in rust and infrastructure as code support (terraform and pulumi) There is even a dashboard, and a playground UI to manage it (that you can even run yourself) . Infracost helps engineers see and reduce the cloud cost of each infrastructure change before they merge their code. The way Infracost works is we gather pricing data from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. What we call a ‘Pricing Service’, which now holds around 9 million live price points (!!). Then we map these prices to infrastructure code. We have been working on multy.dev, an open-source cloud agnostic API that makes it easy to deploy the same infrastructure to any cloud provider using native managed services. The motivation was the realisation that, even when using Terraform, migrating infrastructure code requires an end-to-end re-write.
