Products that do what News-Research Aggregation does

Have made a previous submission about my page, made some major changes. Specifically with wordclouds and how you can simply skim and select specific words of attention to understand what is happening in the recency realm of information. Goal: Creative problem(news)-solving(research). Spending less time and absorbing more. Skip days : Saturday/Sunday. Probs the worst time to put it forward but please needs to criticism.

One year ago, I downloaded the news.arc code and decided that I would teach myself programming by building a better aggregator. At that time, I had some rudimentary HTML knowledge, and little FORTRAN under my belt. I knew that I wanted an aggregator that could support a wide range of submissions, and one that could scale without losing quality for the user. Hubski is what I have to show for my time and effort. The easiest way to describe Hubski is to say that it uses a commenting system akin to HN or Reddit, but uses a sharing scheme like Twitter. You have a personal feed comprised of the…

Hey folks! This is a project that I've been working in my free time for the past few months. It's a news aggregator that uses AI to select relevant articles and summarize them. The default sources are frameworks and libraries' updates, popular HN topics, and languages' subreddits threads that make past a certain threshold. You can run a local instance (needs an OpenAI key) and customize it with your own sources, and adjust the prompt as well. The resulting website can be browsed at https://dev-radar.com/ My next experiment will be with local news. I'm building some feeds with…

Hi HN! I built a proof of concept 'newspaper' that creates short news articles of today's current events with GPT. This is a very rough proof of concept but I can't help but think this concept is the future. I think we'll all have AI daily newspapers in whatever theme we want, covering any amount of information we want, with the ability to expand or contract article length instantly. Sharing just to get everyone thinking about this future. Thanks for reading!

Research in English is a website devoted to distilling research into a more readable form while at the same time enabling our audience to dig deeper and learn. Our goal is to increase the publicity of research and improve citizen access to science. We always link to the original paper for users who want to learn more. I've been working on this site for the past couple months and have 10k+ papers in my database but want to get approved for Google Ads before I really go crazy generating articles.

Creator here, I made this out of mild frustration with the current state of search engine results. Let me know what you think.

Think of HackerNews, but only for AI content. Did build this out of the wish for easier discoverability of new technologies in the AI/ML space. Obviously, so far only a tiny small community, but maybe a few of you find it nice to be around and want to post a link there every now and then :)

Its really simple - its just positive, interesting things that have caught my eye. Updates are sometimes sporadic, as I do curate this entirely manually. Got suggestions? Please share!

Hi everyone, Not happy with the current news aggregators and thrilled about ML models for text processing, a colleague and I built an aggregator fully based on Doc2Vec: https://www.quicknews.ai/. We currently poll ~120 news sources every 15 minutes, and construct a personalized news feed for every user. There are plenty of ways in which Doc2Vec is used here: 1) Clustering the articles into topics 2) Deduping overly similar articles when generating the feed 3) Routing notifications about breaking news to interested users 4) Calculating similarity between…

I’ll put the tl;dr up front: I built my first web app with HN’s news.arc: http://hubski.com The long version (I can be verbose): Recently, I was in a startup that sputtered out. It was my seed idea, but my contribution was on the design/UI end. We applied to YC fall 2010, and were rejected (rightfully so, in retrospect). My previous coding experience entails a bit of Fortran from undergrad research, and building a couple of simple websites (Frontpage even. o-O). Anyway, I had tons of energy for the project, but lamented not being able to contribute to coding, where it was badly needed. After…

I got tired of reading clickbait articles and seeing irrelevant ads. So I pulled in a few RSS feeds to create a news digest using OpenAI 4o-mini for summarisation. Appreciate any feedback you'all might have. PS: News-summarisation may have been done to death, but I'm a UI noob, so I'm using this project to learn some.

Been feeling a bit left out in this fast paced world of ML/AI, so built my first ML project since college. The idea is to scrape the most recent HN article titles and use TF-IDF and cosine similarity as metrics to rank articles that you're interested in to filter out only relevant things. Hopefully a fun project for beginners to get inspiration to jump into this world.
