Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Hey HN! I recently open-sourced a project that I came up with in the late 2022 and have been working on and off since. It's taken around a year or so of active development in total. My problem with habit-trackers is that they're all the same. All of them basically allow to track only one thing - X times per 1 day. That's very rigid and goes against my instinct to ease into new things. I wanted something that's flexible, self-sustainable, and wouldn't require a lot of maintenance. With the new year around the corner I was looking for a habit tracker. None of the ones I found off-the-shelf had the simplicity or the kind of visualization I was looking for. So I built a simple tool that visualizes your habits in a circular wheel, similar to the GitHub contributions graph but in a radial format. This was inspired by the Activity Rings on iOS. It's built with vanilla JavaScript (no frameworks) and works entirely in the browser. Features: - Visual wheel interface for daily habits - Weekly and monthly habit tracking - Data persistence using localStorage - Import/export…

I don't like habit streaks. They backfire as soon as the inevitable happens and I miss a day. To solve that, I created a "Momentum" system that lets you bounce back and recover after a broken streak. I made an app for it (called Polar Habits,) but I've also created this FREE template with Google Sheets, implementing the same system (albeit more basic.) Enjoy!
