24 alternatives to Open-source certificate from GitHub activity
I built this as a small side project to learn and experiment, and I ended up with this! I used a subdomain from my personal portfolio, and everything else runs on free tiers. The project uses Nuxt, SVG, Cloudflare Workers, D1 (SQL), KV, Terraform, and some agentic coding with OpenAI Codex and Claude Code. What started as a joke among friends turned into a fun excuse to build something end to end, from zero to production, and to explore a few things I’d never touched before. I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions.
This tool generates certificates based on GitHub activity, created as a learning project to explore full-stack development. Built with Nuxt, Cloudflare Workers, and D1 database, it runs entirely on free tiers from a… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. I'm excited to finally launch Outstatic, an open source static website CMS that doesn't require a complicated setup or signing up to a third-party service! You can access the documentation here: Outstatic Documentation. I invite you to start by deploying our example blog to Vercel and giving it a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun it is to use Outstatic. Please, let me know what you think. This is the first public version of the project and all feedback is welcome. If you dig the project feel free to leave a star on Github. I appreciate your support!

git-lrc▲300Hi HN, I'm the author of git-lrc, would appreciate some feedback from the community Last year my team started using AI coding tools more heavily, and we found ourselves generating tons of code, but spending less time looking at the stuff that's been generated. We felt like we were losing a bit of grip/understanding of what we were building. Regressions occasionally slipped through. Sometimes changes made it all the way to production only to be reverted later. We tried several AI code review tools, but most operate at PR time. That felt too late. I wanted review to happen while the…

Hey HN, I am proud to show you guys that I have built an open source alternative to Azure OpenAI services. Azure OpenAI services was born out of companies needing enhanced security and access control for using different GPT models. I want to build an OSS version of Azure OpenAI services that people could self host in their own infrastructure. "How can I track LLM spend per API key?" "Can I create a development OpenAI API key with limited access for Bob?" "Can I see my LLM spend breakdown by models and endpoints?" "Can I create 100 OpenAI API keys that my students could use in a classroom…

hi guys. been working on something i think is fundamentally missing in today's workflow with ai agents. vcs. i find myself struggling with questions that agents can't answer like "why did you do it?", "when did u delete this folder? why?", etc. or trying to /rewind (after a /compact...) or basically `bisect` to find when and why something was done by the agent in the current / previous session. just like git did for code, i think we are the same core capabilities with ai agents so... i developed an open source solution for that (currently supporting claude code) would love to…

Hi, I am Krishna Thota. I am building an open source integration and data platform(https://cptn.io). The product is MIT licensed and the repo is at https://github.com/cptn-io/el-cptn. I have started on my startup journey an year ago and launched a monitoring platform called DevRaven. Unfortunately the product did not takeoff as expected. That story is for another day. But during the course of building the product, I have built several integrations leveraging MQs and Cloud Functions. While building and deploying Cloud Functions for happy paths is easy, I had to…

Traycer AI▲190Hey everyone! We've built Traycer, a tool that transforms your GitHub issues—everything from descriptions and attached images to ongoing conversations—into clear, actionable implementation plans. You can easily import these plans into your IDE with our extension or use them with any other coding assistant you prefer. We'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Traycer is totally free for open-source projects, and we've got a 2-week free trial if you're working with private repos. Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Boxes.devfree tier, from $19/mo▲112Hi HN, we’re Nick and Drew, and we’re building boxes.dev – the first cloud-only agentic dev environment (ADE) that gives every Codex and Claude Code agent its own cloud computer. We’re two engineers who previously built Gem (co-founder/CTO and first hire), and we spent the last year coding almost exclusively using Codex and Claude Code. It’s been a huge change to how we code, and it’s been exhilarating seeing the models keep getting better – but we eventually realized that developing on localhost was holding us back: - Git worktrees are clunky to set up and use for parallelizing work -…

Hey, we built an open-source CLI in Go purposed to help you answer security questions across your cloud, code and runtime. It connects to your GitHub, GitLab, AWS, GCP, Azure & K8s using the credentials that are already in your shell, while limiting itself to read-only. The core innovation here is the trust boundary - our agent has a built-in code execution sandbox with no host or network access; it is exposed to an internal tool which we call an “action gate” that performs read-only HTTP requests to your own infrastructure. Since the cloud providers constantly expand actions and services,…

I don't know Rust. Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that. So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well. I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.

Hi HN! This is a little site I put together while learning the Elm language as part of a hackathon at my work, I thought you might enjoy it. Be sure to click the `(source)` buttons next to the graphs: you can edit them interactively & write your own queries against the entire data set. The syntax isn't well documented yet, but you can probably get the general idea pretty quickly based on the examples there. If you like it, have questions, etc. let me know! If folks think this is cool, maybe I can get it turned into a legit project. :)

Simon(sfarshid) and I spend a lot of time on GitHub. As data nerds we put together a quick tool to explore your repository’s data. How it works: - Data Loading: We use dlt to pull data (issues, PRs, commits, stars) from GitHub - Semantic Layer: Relta wraps the underlying dataset into a semantic layer so the LLM doesn’t hallucinate. - Text-to-SQL: A text-to-SQL agent transforms your plain-English question into a query using the semantic layer - Generative Charts: assistant-ui dynamically generates a chart based on the SQL query - Refinements: If the semantic layer can’t handle your question,…

I tend to create a private certificate authority for every side project, in order to create TLS certs for local development. I find it useful to have local development closely resemble production when at all possible, and "real" certificates are an important element. Anyway I got tired of having these CA private keys on my local machine, especially as I started thinking about setting up a private CA for my company (https://riza.io). So I started thinking about what the simplest way to host a private CA might be. You really only need two things: 1) secret storage, to hold the CA's…

Hi HN, I built a free, and completely open source, visual studio code extension, which generates tweets based on commits you select. While I was working on webtilities.com, an idea came to me: wouldn't it be cool that I could market this thing inside my editor. Ah, i'm truly lazy. Well, I spent a week building this thing that I bet no one will need because: * "This wont work. My commit messages are terrible" * "This is stupid, I can just use ChatGPT/Gemini/[Insert Chat Platform] directly" * "This is stupid, I get BILLED for using openai tokens" ... And the list goes on. But, I…

Hey developers I think we're tired of copying and pasting our codes and sharing links using PasteBin, GithubGist, or Slack. What if you could share the codes without copying the link and share them right from your favorite editor? That was the motivation for creating TurboGist. Right now, it's still in the MVP stage, and I'm trying to gather feedback from developers like you. It's available as a beta in the VS Code Extension store. Can you guys check this out? It'd help me a lot. You don't need to pay any penny, 100% FREE. However, I'm working on introducing a self-hosted feature. Besides, a…

Hi HN, Martin, Nils, and Jannes here. We are building Legit, an open source version control and collaboration layer for AI agents and AI native applications. You can find the repo here https://github.com/Legit-Control/monorepo and the website here https://legitcontrol.com Over the last years, we worked on multiple developer tools and AI driven products. As soon as we started letting agents modify real files and business critical data, one problem kept showing up. We could not reliably answer what changed, why it changed, or how to safely undo it. Today, most AI…
