Products that do what Open-source template for end-to-end streaming analytics does

To help my future self, I decided to build a repository in which I can quickly deploy an end-to-end modern analytics pipeline, from ingestion to fast analytics and business dashboards, including data exploration, time-series forecasting, and monitoring of the stack. Of course, all the components are open source, and you can use this template as a stepping stone for your near-realtime streaming analytics. What's the inspiration? I’ve been working with streaming analytics for a long time. I’ve done not-too-stale analytics with a RDBMs incremental query and a spreadsheet, gone over the…

We've been hard at work for a few weeks and thought it's time for another update. In case you missed our first post, PostgresML is an end-to-end machine learning solution, running alongside your favorite database. This time we have more of a suite offering: project management, visibility into the datasets and the deployment pipeline decision making. Let us know what you think! Demo link is on the page, and also here: https://demo.postgresml.org

Every data pipeline job I had to tackle required quite a few components to set up: - One tool to ingest data - Another one to transform it - If you wanted to run Python, set up an orchestrator - If you need to check the data, a data quality tool Let alone this being hard to set up and taking time, it is also pretty high-maintenance. I had to do a lot of infra work, and while this being billable hours for me I didn’t enjoy the work at all. For some parts of it, there were nice solutions like dbt, but in the end for an end-to-end workflow, it didn’t work. That’s why I decided to build an…

We are building Quary (https://quary.dev), an engineer-first BI/analytics product. You can find our repo at https://github.com/quarylabs/quary and our website at https://www.quary.dev/. There’s a demo video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3hO65_lkGU As engineers who have worked on data at startups and Amazon, we were frustrated by self-serve BI tools. They seemed dumbed down and they always required us to abandon our local dev tools we know and love (e.g. copilot, git). For us and for everyone we speak to, they end up…

Hey HN! I want to share a new open source project I've been working on called Trench (https://trench.dev). It's open source analytics infrastructure for tracking events, page views, and identifying users, and it's built on top of ClickHouse and Kafka. https://github.com/frigadehq/trench I built Trench because the Postgres table we used for tracking events at our startup (http://frigade.com/) was getting expensive and becoming a performance bottleneck as we scaled to millions of end users. Many companies run into the same problem as us (e.g.…

I have created an open-source alternative to Mixpanel and will explain a bit about why I decided to do this. Mixpanel is a GREAT tool and quite easy to understand (compared to GA4 and similar). I have used Mixpanel extensively for one of my React Native apps, but the last invoice was $300, which was way over my budget. I think I was paying for MTU (monthly tracked users), which was around 7000-10k users. However, a downside of Mixpanel is that it is purely a product analytics tool; you don't get any basic web analytics similar to what GA4 or Plausible offers. Therefore, I have combined the…

Hi! One of the creators here. Very proud to finally be able to show you what we've been working on for over a year now. Curious to hear your thoughts! Objectiv is open-source (APLv2) product analytics infrastructure. It's built around a generic but strict event taxonomy, open/common data- and infra tools (currently PG, snowplow, working on bigquery with more to come), and the analyses are done using our pandas-like, SQL speaking modeling library called Bach. As a result, we’re moving towards a vision wherein models can be shared openly, independent of product, platform[1] or data…
