Products that do what OVault – Simple and Local OTP Management for iOS/macOS does

OVault is a super simple iOS and macOS app that lets you store and view your OTP codes for two factor authentication. I found that my personal favourite OTP app Authy seemed to be getting worse with each iOS release. Its usability has never been great, and iOS 18 meant that it lost its Home Screen Widget that let me view my OTP codes without opening the app. I decided to switch to another app, then became frustrated that I couldn't easily export my secrets from Authy. Of course I'm sure there are good security related reasons for this, but I didn't want to migrate all my OTPs just to end up…

I'm currently working on Bramble, an open source password manager with P2P cross-device sync. Initially I released the Chrome extension, but recently I also published the Android app and iOS is pending Apple's approval. Besides that, the latest version also includes passkey storage for all platforms! About Bramble: It aims to be as feature-rich as all popular and a replacement for cloud-based providers. I don't think we need to store our data in the cloud and be at the whims of companies raising their prices every year. There's always a breach and then we find out that some fields aren't…

Hi HN, We’re the team at MyDecisive.ai, and today we’re giving developers a peek at Octant — point-and-click control and visibility for your OpenTelemetry. You've likely felt the pain of the "observability tax," especially if you manage K8S clusters. The modern standard is to instrument everything with OpenTelemetry, but piping all those rich OTLP logs, metrics, and traces straight to a SaaS vendor (Datadog, Splunk, Honeycomb) gets expensive fast. You end up paying massive ingestion and storage costs for noisy, low-value data just so it's searchable when something breaks. With Octant you get…

Hi HN, I've been waiting to post what I've been working on for a few weeks now:) Today we're launching LayerVault, which is a version control system made for designers. The URL is http://www.layervault.com LayerVault keeps track of what you're working on without adding extra steps to your process. The app runs in your toolbar and tracks changes you make to your files. Basically — each time you create or modify a file you’re working on, LayerVault saves a copy. You can then login, flip through its versions, and download a version from a few weeks ago. It's pretty neat — and we’ve built some…
