It is a free drawing app that I took the courage to finally reveal after years of development. Main idea was to make drawing from reference effortless but also make an app that makes sketching very realistic especially with pencil. After Importing a reference image the "peek" button and additional slider are unlocked, allowing for quick preview of the reference image and fast changing of the reference image opacity so that you can trace or paint over the reference. I've made a drawing app based on my physical sketching practice, using fluid sim and some shader tricks to mimic watercolor-style ink washes. Best used on iPad or with a drawing tablet. The linked article shows how the core engine works, with plenty of little interactive demos. It was fun to make, sharing in hopes others find it fun too :)

Hey HN! I used to spend hours drawing all kind of things as a kid. Sadly though, those drawings are long gone. Inspired by this, I created DoodleDreams. A webapp that brings drawings to life using AI and stores them as memories. You can always look back at the drawings, see who made them, and even know the age they were drawn at. I'm enthralled with using pen plotters to make generative art. Last August at SIGGRAPH, I built an interactive experience for others to see how code can be used to make visual art.
