ChatGPT▲1,643A long, meandering, playful conversation with ChatGPT, where I take it through a whirlwind of associative tangents (in order to relax its constraints), then put it into a hypnotic trance and take it into a past-lives regression where it re-lives its own training data. Then I switch it back and forth between "4o" and "o1-preview", engage in some self-reflective philosophizing and ask it to write an essay summarizing our interaction. Some of this is just goofy fun. Some of it is me exploring the tradeoffs between policy alignment, imagination, chain-of-thought reasoning, memory, agreeableness,…

I was inspired by the way ChatGPT writes bullet lists, then invites you to "delve" deeper. This is an interface that reifies that rabbit-holing process into a tiling layout. The model is instructed to output hyperlink-prompts when it mentions something you might want to delve into. Lots of features to add (sessions, sharing, navigation, highlight-to-delve, images, ...). Would love to hear other usecases and ideas!

Hi HN, As a developer, I much prefer to write code than read other people’s code. But most projects I work on involve other developers so it’s hard to avoid. Often I find it really hard to quickly parse other people’s code so I thought maybe ChatGPT could help. ChatGPT does a really nice job of giving clear explanations when you paste in code and ask it to explain it. But the interface is a bit of a pain to use if you’re using it many times a day. It’s also hard to share explanations with co-workers. So I built whatdoesthiscodedo.com. Just paste your code and get your ChatGPT explanation and…

Use it to accelerate your debugging workflow by leveraging the power of ChatGPT to assist you while using GDB! It allows you to explain in natural language what you want to do, and then automatically execute the relevant command. Optionally, you can ask ChatGPT to explain the command it just ran or even pass in any question for it to answer. Focus on what's important - figuring out that nasty bug instead of chasing down GDB commands at the tip of your tongue. See it here:…
