Hey HN! I'm excited to introduce Hanko, a passkey-first authentication platform that allows you to integrate authentication and user management into your apps with minimal effort, all via pre-built components and a flexible API. The origins of the project date back almost 10 years, when we started working on “replacing the password” with a push-based, white-label authenticator app. Early on, we came across the FIDO standards, which eventually became what we know today as passkeys. As big fans of passkeys, we always knew that we wanted to build solutions for other developers to make the…

Apidog▲570Development teams often struggle with using multiple tools like Postman and Swagger for API design, development, and testing. This fragmented approach leads to outdated API specs and chaotic collaboration. So we built Apidog: a single, unified API platform for team collaboration. It has a beautiful interface that makes it easy to create API spec, generate request data from API spec, validate responses, create mock data, orchestrate test scenarios, and publish API documentation. Apidog = Postman + Swagger + Mock + JMeter.

I, like Andrej Karpathy, became super frustrated by how annoying it was to deploy projects that were previously an absolute joy to make with Claude Code. That is why I made open-passkey, an MIT licensed passkey repo with support for 33 languages and frameworks (examples included) that makes adding simple secure auth to a project easy. We are also releasing gateway (https://gateway.locke.id) a "backendless" hosted auth server that frontend apps can consume for free so that you can ship a React or Angular app using a CDN like Netlify without needing to configure a server at all. We…

I built Nocaptcha after getting frustrated with traditional CAPTCHAs both as a user and developer. WebAuthn passkeys offered a promising alternative that's both more secure and user-friendly. What makes Nocaptcha different: - Uses WebAuthn standard instead of puzzle-solving - No need for users to remember passwords or solve puzzles - Open source Current limitation: Working with W3C WebAuthn Community Group on true passkey disposal for this use case. Looking for feedback particularly on: 1. Integration experience 2. User experience compared to traditional CAPTCHAs

Hey y'all, This is something I've been working on for a few months. It is a passkey system, similar to Apple Passkeys or a Yubikey, but it is entirely software based so you can sync credentials between devices. Passkeys (and FIDO devices in general) allow you to use public keys instead of passwords or codes to authenticate. For instance, you can just click "Approve" on the device/software instead of having to copy a code, and there are no passwords to phish. This is a new piece of tech, so website support for logins are still limited, but it can currently be used for 2FA anywhere a…
