I've been playing Wordle and remembered this puzzle game I used to play with my grandfather. It's inspired by the block puzzles in many newspapers but made to be shorter: just guess the nine letter word. So I made a quick thing to play with my family like we used to. I thought you guys might enjoy it.

Hi! Any history nerds here? I made Time Pin, a little game inspired by Geo Guessr but history-themed. You can play it here(it works on both desktop and mobile). Any feedback is appreciated: https://www.crazygames.com/game/time-pin Now some details: The goal is to guess the time and place that a character is from. You base your guess on some environmental photos, and on questions that you can ask the character(you have 12 questions but can only ask 5 so you have to choose carefully). The closer you are the more points you get. At the end, a portrait picture of the…

What: So I built this small (and ofc free) web-based interactive game where folks solve a murder mystery while learning MongoDB commands and concepts. It combines a fun storyline with practical lessons to help you practice querying and navigating data. It’s not a full tutorial—more like a self-directed exercise with an optional walkthrough to guide you. Motivation: Over the holidays, I wanted to teach MongoDB basics to my 8th-grade nephew in an interactive and exciting way. I was inspired by the popular SQL Murder Mystery and thought, “Why not create something similar for MongoDB?” I tested…

Hi HN - I’m a copywriter by trade who loves word games. A while back I wondered: what if you flipped the idea of Scrabble on its head? Instead of building words, start with a long one and carve away letters to find the smaller words hidden inside. I made a quick prototype, then my brother helped turn it into a real game. Play Strikethrough: https://puzzle-brothers.boondoggle.studio/puzzles/strikethro... How it works - You get a seed word (e.g., LONGBOARD). - Delete letters from it to make valid words: LONG, BOARD, LORD, BARD, etc. - Find 10 words to beat the day’s puzzle,…

I built this daily puzzle game called "Omitten". The idea came from a compulsive habit I got from reading books on an e-reader and constantly looking up definitions (iykyk). Quite often you'd see a single word with 20 different meanings in different contexts, and I wanted to build a game around that. In the game you get a maximum of 4 clues. The first one will generally be an archaic form or an unusual context. The second and third pivot into entirely different domains to try and trick your brain, and by the fourth, it should be fairly obvious. You start with only the first clue, and as you…

Hi everyone. I spent the last year making Puzzle Express. Play and discover puzzles as if you were scrolling reels: play if you want or swipe up to skip. Made this as a healthier alternative to doomscrolling and a great, new way to discover puzzles you might love. If you don't fancy endless scrolling, try to finish the daily missions or play your favorite puzzle in the arcade.

I love the dictionary game: someone takes an unfamiliar word from the dictionary and writes down the definition. Then the other players come up with their own, fake, definition, and guess which one is real. I built a Wordle-style daily game out of this concept. You get shown a word and four definitions and it's up to you to figure out which one is real. There are five new words to try every day. The real definitions are from Wiktionary, the fake ones are made up by Claude (and sometimes me). Let me know what you think, and how this could be improved!
