I got tired of fighting through spammy tool sites just to do something simple, so I made Toolbrew in a few hours on Replit. Just a bunch of free little tools in one place. Text converters, SEO checks, video downloaders, that kind of stuff. No signups, no ads. If there is a tool you wish existed, you can request it on the site and I will build it. Do your worst. Seriously, ANY tool. Maybe it helps, maybe not. Enjoy!

I love Streamlit but have run into many situation where taking it from PoC to MVP state is insurmountable. With all the recent HN hype around htmx and sematic html / classless css I decided to build a Streamlit alternative using these on top of FastAPI. This has a couple advantages: 1) easier to extend when you move past PoC since the FastAPI app is exposed (allowing adding more routes) and hstream acts more like a typical web stack 2) with htmx and html (plus MVP.css) doing the heavy lifting the package is alot less complex and easier to reason about - and hopefully more performant…

Hello everyone! My friend Ori Kabeli and I have been playing around with GPT-4 Vision as a way to control websites and complete complicated tasks online. We created a small proof of concept python package called pywebagent. pywebagent allows performing high level tasks in websites, accessible to developers as simple python functions. It is highly experimental, and only sometimes works, but we think it still might be useful to all you tinkerers out there. Feel free to contribute! Example Use Case: You can order things from amazon with one line of code. pywebagent.act(…

Hi, I recently launched Packagr.app - a simple cloud hosted private PIP index which Python developers can use to store and deploy private Python packages: https://www.packagr.app Packagr provides a convenient alternative to open source solutions such as pypiserver and devpi-server and takes care of hosting, authentication and package sharing out of the box Thanks for looking, Chris

I found the manual process of downloading various YouTube assets painful so built a simple app to help myself and hopefully others. The app wraps up popular Python libraries (`yt-dlp, scrapetube, youtube-transcript-api`) and makes their functionality easier to use. Python and Docker versions are available.

I’ve been working on Pyra for the past few months and wanted to start sharing it in public. Right now it’s focused on the core package/project management workflow: Python installs, init, add/remove, lockfiles, env sync, and running commands in the managed env. The bigger thing I’m exploring is whether Python could eventually support a more cohesive toolchain story overall, more in the direction of Bun: not just packaging, but maybe over time testing, tasks, notebooks, and other common workflow tools feeling like one system instead of a bunch of separate pieces. It’s still early,…
