Products that do what PostIdentity, an AI that writes in your voice does
I built PostIdentity because I was tired of rewriting the same idea for different platforms in different tones. On X I needed something short and casual. On LinkedIn it had to be longer and more formal. I spent more time polishing tone than writing. PostIdentity is a web app that learns how you write and builds AI identities that capture more than just tone. Each identity encodes pacing, intent, and personality to create posts that sound like you or match different styles for brands or clients. Unlike ChatGPT or other AI writing tools, PostIdentity keeps each identity persistent instead of…

I'm Tom, the cofounder of Canonical AI. I build a Voice AI agent that interviews you, then writes LinkedIn and X posts based on the interview. ### Why did I build this? 1. LinkedIn and X are b2b lead goldmines. But generating content is hard. You have to figure out what to say. If you're like me, you have trouble coming up with social post ideas when staring at a blank screen. But interesting ideas arrive when I step away from my laptop and talk to people. Also, it's hard to compose the content in a way that appeases the platform algorithms. 2. I want to dogfood my product. We’re building…

Today I come to you on this beautiful Friday with a freshly hardthink-ed solution to a proliferous problem plaguing our world: the loss of original voice. The blanket of blandness slowly suffocating centuries of writing. Or to put it bluntly: AI writing is trash. It is disrespectful to expect ME to read something YOU could not even be bothered to write (or likely even read). The lingering human connection that remained resilient on the internet - through years of SEO optimisation, propaganda bots, ads, regional firewalls, politics, censorship - is now being diluted even further. Many of the…

I'm a Machine Learning engineer. Struggled with consistency for months on my goals, life etc, so I built something to help myself (zropi.com) but that surprised me or shocked me literally. It’s an AI companion that feels alive: chats like a person. Pauses, emotions, personality. Sends voice notes when it's excited about something or whenever it wants (has its like own mind). Shares photos of itself. But the memory It remembers EVERYTHING. Not just facts context, preferences, random things I mentioned. Last week I asked "how's that thing I told you about going?" and it knew exactly what I…

Hey HN, this is deepan from trulytyped (https://trulytyped.com). I am building a document writing app which makes it extremely easy to figure out how a document was created. Now that any text can be AI generated, how do you tell if something was actually generated or composed. It is impossible to detect AI after a piece of text has been generated. No amount of watermarking, linguistic checks or vibe checks work consistently. The AI detectors that schools and journals use are easy to bypass. Why do we need to solve this problem - First of all, this is not an anti-AI stance. I have…

Hi everyone, We have been developing a platform to enable professionals to build AI assistants to help them through their work. After a few months, we realized people are trying to sell basic functionalities that can be built from scratch in a couple of hours. Due to this, individuals who are not familiar with the current SOTA are misinformed about the potential of generative models. So, we decided to open up some of our most popular templates as standalone tools for free to empower individuals and set a solid standard for what people should expect. We believe the barrier to accessing…

Hey guys, I left my PM job in December to learn how to code. The plan, - Build something that "I" could build with my background (I haven't studied CS) - Something that already existed and I used so I didn't have to spend time finding PMF Over the past 4 months I've been building howsthisgoing.com (a standup bot for slack with AI summaries). My ex-employed signed up in May & I got another customer through a university batchmate sometime in June (the company he's working at). However, since then it's mostly been 0 new customers, I get roughly 6-10 views on my site daily. The bot and my…

I've been wondering how I could use LLMs to help me write, without taking my own voice away. I arrived at a workflow where the AI has strict instructions not to give me any text, just to give me tips, but it was clunky to see which parts of the text the critique referred to. To solve it, I made Lucid. I made it mostly for myself, but I added a "bring your own key" system for others to use it. I hope you like it!

I've been running into docs and chats that read as authored by humans but turn out to be pasted from GenAI. All well-intentioned, but inefficient and kinda awkward to sort out. Signaling with your own words is better, but I made some cheap semantic URLs to maybe help: "This post is authorial.fyi" - i.e. I stand behind each part, whether or not GenAI was used "The plan above is ai.delegated.fyi" - i.e. I believe this is worthwhile overall, but I wasn't personally intentional about each part Hope is to open conversations in this GenAI moment. Casually - complementary to larger initiatives.…

Most men rehearse hard conversations in their head. Asking someone out, navigating tension, recovering when things get awkward. The rehearsal never works because you're just talking to yourself. I built vibeCoach : a voice AI where you actually practice these conversations out loud, and the AI responds like a real woman would. She starts guarded. One-word answers, a little skeptical. If you escalate too fast or try something cheesy, she gets MORE guarded. If you're genuine and read the moment right, she opens up. Just like real life. Under the hood it's a multi-agent system : multiple AI…

Hey HN, I built Upplai to help job seekers get quick, AI-driven feedback on their resumes and cover letters. The goal is to improve the chances of getting past Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and human recruiters. If you're job hunting, you can try it here: https://you.uppl.ai/login?invitation=ycombinator. Would love to hear your thoughts— does it actually help? What’s missing? Why I Built This: I founded Upplai because I’ve experienced firsthand how broken the hiring process is from both sides of the table. As a hiring manager, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of…
