24 alternatives to Promptr, let GPT operate on your codebase and other useful goodies
Hi HN, I've been working on an experimental tool that helps you use GPT to work on your codebase. I'd love to improve the tool if there's interest. New ideas welcome! I think this could also be useful for experimenting with other types of recursive prompts. It’s a little bit Swiss Army knife and a little bit skynet: https://github.com/ferrislucas/promptr From the README: Promptr is a CLI tool for operating on your codebase using GPT. Promptr dynamically includes one or more files into your GPT prompts, and it can optionally parse and apply the changes that GPT suggests to…
Promptr is a command-line tool that lets developers use GPT to work directly on their codebase. It dynamically includes files in prompts sent to GPT and can automatically parse and apply suggested changes back to the… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. I was getting tired of copy/pasting reams of code into GPT-4 to give it context before I asked it to help me, so I started this small tool. In a nutshell, gpt-repository-loader will spit out file paths and file contents in a prompt-friendly format. You can also use .gptignore to ignore files/folders that are irrelevant to your prompt. gpt-repository-loader as-is works pretty well in helping me achieve better responses. Eventually, I thought it would be cute to load itself into GPT-4 and have GPT-4 improve it. I was honestly surprised by PR#17. GPT-4 was able to write a valid an…

PrompTessor▲125After countless hours of solo coding, designing, and iterating, I’m both excited and nervous to share my first-ever product: PrompTessor — now live. As someone who constantly experiments with AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney, I often found myself stuck in a loop of trial-and-error. The issue wasn’t always the AI — it was often the prompt itself. That observation became the starting point for PrompTessor. This tool doesn’t just optimize your prompt — it analyzes it. It gives you: - A prompt score - A breakdown of strengths and weaknesses - A fully optimized version of your prompt - And…

I've been playing with the idea of an LLM prompt that causes the model to generate and return a new prompt. https://github.com/andyk/recursive_llm The idea I'm starting with is to implement recursion using English as the programming language and GPT as the runtime. It’s kind of like traditional recursion in code, but instead of having a function that calls itself with a different set of arguments, there is a prompt that returns itself with specific parts updated to reflect the new arguments. Here is a prompt for infinitely generating Fibonacci numbers: > You are a…
