Hi HN, Today we’re launching PowerSync, a Postgres<>SQLite bi-directional sync engine that enables an offline-first app architecture. It currently supports Flutter, React Native and web (JavaScript) using Wasm SQLite in the browser, with more client SDKs on the way. Conrad and I (Ralf) have been working on our sync engine since 2009, originally as part of a full-stack app platform. That version of the system is still used in production worldwide and we’ve learnt a lot from its use cases and scaling. About a year ago we started on spinning off PowerSync as a standalone product that is…

Hey HN! I’ve written a bunch of WebSocket servers over the years to do simple things like state synchronization, WebRTC signaling, and notifying a client when a backend job was run. I realized that if I had a simple way to create a private, temporary, mini-redis that the client could talk to directly, it would save a lot of time. So we created DriftDB. In addition to the open source server that you can run yourself, we also provide https://jamsocket.live where you can use an instance we host on Cloudflare’s edge (~13ms round trip latency from my home in NY). You may have seen my…

I created Pylon to make it easier to move from hobby projects to full production apps. When I work on hobby projects, I usually use React or Next.js because they are quick to set up and easy to deploy on Vercel. For production apps, I separate the frontend and backend, then deploy the backend on AWS. But setting up a full backend on AWS can be complex and costly, especially for simple apps. Pylon is a full-stack, real-time framework that includes server-rendered React, TypeScript functions, entities, policies, real-time sync, built-in authentication, and support for background and scheduled…

Hi all, Aram and Eduard here - authors of Modelence (https://github.com/modelence/modelence), an all-in-one backend platform for teams that love TypeScript + MongoDB. Think Supabase, but for MongoDB: auth, cron jobs, email, monitoring, without glue code before you can ship. As Karpathy (and many of us) noted, getting from prototype to production is mostly painful integration work. The pieces exist, but stitching them together reliably is the hard part: https://x.com/karpathy/status/1905051558783418370. YC AI Startup School talk about this -…

Hello HN! Keeping Elasticsearch or Algolia in sync with Postgres is a pain when your data spans multiple tables. Traditional CDC tools like Debezium capture table-level events but don’t help when you need to index a full entity composed of related records. That's why I built PG-Capture. PG-Capture lets you define a schema as complex as you need, aggregate table-level events, and reconstruct structured objects spanning multiple tables. It then publishes them as meaningful domain-level events to any queue (RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.). PG-Capture does NOT replace Debezium, it works on top of it (or…

We spent the past few weeks building Supaglue (https://github.com/supaglue-labs/supaglue) and would like to share an early public alpha version with you. Supaglue is an open source platform to help developers build customer-facing Salesforce integrations into their applications. Use code to define syncs for pulling objects from Salesforce into your application. Embed functional and customizable React components for your customers to configure these syncs. Why? - We built user-facing HubSpot and Salesforce integrations in a previous product we worked on and did not find an…
