Greetings! A 2.5 weekends project to teach myself newer Python features (>= 3.10). Conditions are written as Lambda expressions that annotate parameters and return types, and coexist with type annotations. Symbols to share values between conditions are also supported to a limited extend.

Hi HN, We’re Afnan, Theo and Ruben. We’re all ML engineers or data scientists, and we kept running into the same thing: we’d write useful Python functions, either for ourselves or internal tools, and then hit a wall when we wanted to share them as actual apps. We tried Streamlit and Gradio. They’re great to get something up quickly. But as soon as we needed more flexibility or something more polished, there wasn’t really a path forward. Rebuilding the frontend properly in React isn’t where we bring the most value. So we started building Davia. You keep your code in Python, decorate the…

This is a little project I've been working on for a while in order to better learn Python. Although IRC may not exactly be the most exciting medium, I still find it to be fun and useful, this interest lead me to writing a bot. In doing this I realized that what would actually be more interesting would be if I had a framework. There may already be such a thing, certainly there are IRC libraries, but I don't know if they're well-suited to deploying bots. At any rate if for no other reason than the fact that I am relatively new to programming and eager to learn I decided to build a framework.…

This was by far the most common missing feature of the library since my first post, so I'm really happy I managed to figure it out. See the release for some code examples and a detailed changelog, and most importantly, have a great day!

Google Docs for Python basically. For the past 4 months, I’ve been working on a full-stack project I’m really proud of called PyTogether; a real-time collaborative Python IDE designed with beginners in mind (think Google Docs, but for Python). It’s meant for pair programming, tutoring, or just learning Python together. It’s completely free. No subscriptions, no ads, nothing. Just create an account, make a group, and start a project. Has proper code-linting, live drawings for note-taking or teaching, voice chat, an extremely intuitive UI, autosaving, and live cursors. There are no limitations…
