Hi HN, I just released my first npm package so wanted to share it here. Pythagora is a Node.js module that creates automated integration tests for MERN/MEAN apps by recording server activity. To integrate Pythagora, you need to paste one line of code to your repository and run the Pythagora capture CLI command. Then, just play around with your app and from all API requests and database queries Pythagora will generate integration tests. When running tests, it doesn’t matter what database is your Node.js connected to or what is the state of that database. Actually, that database is never…

Google Docs for Python basically. For the past 4 months, I’ve been working on a full-stack project I’m really proud of called PyTogether; a real-time collaborative Python IDE designed with beginners in mind (think Google Docs, but for Python). It’s meant for pair programming, tutoring, or just learning Python together. It’s completely free. No subscriptions, no ads, nothing. Just create an account, make a group, and start a project. Has proper code-linting, live drawings for note-taking or teaching, voice chat, an extremely intuitive UI, autosaving, and live cursors. There are no limitations…

Hi HN. I built a prototype AI physics tutor that can interpret, draw, and edit free body diagrams. Lately I've been transfixed with generating diagrams with LLMs. If you pipe generated JSON through a D3.js renderer, you can get pretty consistent SVG results with the smarter models. This physics tutor prototype is an example of an application. For a couple premade scenes, you can ask it to make an FBD, decompose an angled force into components, run through the math of Newton's Second Law, or off-road and try and generate a FBD for a scene of your own description. I previously made a similar…
