Hi HN! I made a no-code platform for creating physical data collection apps, using QR codes [1]. It does not yet have a self-service config UI though, which limits adoption. That's why I recently released a Google Forms™ add-on for QR code check-in, based on the platform. This focused use-case makes it easy to provide a fully self-service config UI. How it works: 1. Create your Google Form as you normally would [2] 2. Activate the add-on if you hadn't already [3] 3. Craft a confirmation email to be sent to each form responder Upon each form submission, the add-on will send a PDF with a…

Hi HN! This is a hobby project of mine that recently landed me my first interview and helped me get my first internship offers. Draw on a QR code, and the health bars will accurately display how close the QR code is to being unscannable. How few errors does it take to break a QR code? How many errors can a QR code handle? Counters at the bottom track your record minimum and maximum damage. (Can you figure out how to break a QR code with 0.0% damage to the actual data region?) We just launched SnippQR (http://qr.snipp.com) – a free custom QR code generator. We first built our generator for internal use to create QR codes for clients like ESPN, Taco Bell and Sección Amarilla but quickly realized that this could be a great tool to share with everyone. Yes, QR codes are still relevant. According to eMarketer, 36% of adults aged 18-34 have used a QR code at least once – that’s greater than the percent of people who have used Twitter. QR code usage in China has quadrupled in the past year, to over 9 million scans per month.
