Hey HN - I’m Jeff, co-founder of Chroma. In December of 2022, I was scrolling Twitter in the wee-hours of the morning holding my then-newborn daughter. ChatGPT had launched, and we were all figuring out what this technology was and how to make it useful. Developers were using retrieval to bring their data to the models - and so I DM’d every person who had tweeted about “embeddings” in the entire month of December. (it was only 120 people!) Hey there! I’ve been working on DB Pilot for the last couple of months, and I recently added an AI assistant powered by GPT 3.5 to help you write SQL queries tailored to your DB schema. Simply ask what data you are looking for - GPT will figure out which tables to use, how to join them, and then write a query for you. The AI assistant knows which tables and columns exist in your database, meaning it can write queries specific to your schema. Besides that, it doesn't have access to any actual data from your database though, meaning your data doesn't get exposed to OpenAI.

Here’s a quick demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsh8M3hIjDA. Customers from our previous product wanted custom dashboards but didn’t want to spend on technical staff to build them. They wanted customizability of the dashboard yet simplicity of the building experience. So, we studied the approaches of Devin, Claude…

Hi HN, I'm Igor, a proud part of the team here at cube.dev. I'm excited to share some news about Cube, an open-source headless BI platform that now has almost universal connectivity to both upstream and downstream tools in the data pipeline: https://cube.dev/blog/expanded-bi-support If you're confused by "headless BI", there's a blog post to get you covered (https://cube.dev/blog/headless-bi), but the most concise and developer-friendly way to put it would be that Cube can connect to any data source that speaks SQL (from Postgres to BigQuery to…
