Paste in my prompt to Claude Code with an embedded API key for accessing my public readonly SQL+vector database, and you have a state-of-the-art research tool over Hacker News, arXiv, LessWrong, and dozens of other high-quality public commons sites. Claude whips up the monster SQL queries that safely run on my machine, to answer your most nuanced questions. There's also an Alerts functionality, where you can just ask Claude to submit a SQL query as an alert, and you'll be emailed when the ultra nuanced criteria is met (and the output changes). Hello everyone! I'm exited to share a NodeJS package I was working on for the past two months. The package is designed to simplify querying SQL databases through an array-like API. Qustar supports PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL, and MariaDB, and offers TypeScript support for a robust development experience. It's in early stage of development. I would like to hear your thoughts about it.

Hi HN. As a backend developer using PostgreSQL and Ruby on Rails for more than 10 years, around 3 years ago, I caught a spark to learn as much as I could about how to operate high performance, scalable, and reliable PostgreSQL databases. As I reflected on my own career path, I realized there are other developers that may want to learn more about this. I saw an opportunity to help show backend developers how they could put advanced, powerful, PostgreSQL features to use, to help build and scale their Rails apps. I've been fortunate to give presentations in both the PostgreSQL and Rails…

Built this for streaming AI tool calls. LLMs stream function arguments as JSON character-by-character. Most parsers reparse from scratch each time - O(n²) behavior that causes UI lag. This maintains parsing state, processing only new characters. True O(n) performance that stays imperceptible throughout the entire response. Ruby gem, MIT licensed. Would love feedback.
