Hey HN, This is a small project I made for a meetup (Creative Coding Amsterdam's poetry afternoon). With all the hype around LLMs these days, I wanted to create something silly and fun. I ended up with Glitchy BARD, which generates crappy poetry. It uses source text transformed into n-grams, while rhymes rely on the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary[0]. For the voice, I used the native SpeechSynthesis API instead of a fancy AI one. Everything runs on the client, but you can share a song via URL, which includes the random number generator seed. It's open source[1], though the code is a bit chaotic…

Hi everyone, I'm the co-founder of https://KLIPY.com - an API first platform for GIFs, Stickers, Memes, Emojis, Clips, and now AI-generated content. With GIPHY moving to a paid model and Tenor shutting down third-party integrations in 2026, we’re building KLIPY as a modern, fast, and monetization-ready alternative for developers, platforms, and apps. One of our newest features: AI Meme Generator – creates a unique meme in under 5–7 seconds via API. We’re also working on more tools to make short-form and viral content generation fast and accessible through simple APIs. You can…

I've been fascinated by the Japanese language and culture for a while now, and I wanted to create a simple, no-fuss way for beginners to get started. So, I built *[Nihongo](https://nihongo.site/)*, a free and open-source web app designed to help you learn the fundamentals of Japanese in about a month. The name of the app, Nihongo (日本語), is the Japanese word for the "Japanese language." You can check it out here: *[https://nihongo.site/](https://nihongo.site/)* And for those who like to tinker, the code is available on GitHub:…

I'm building a Telegram bot to practice Dutch. GPT-4o-mini kept picking vocabulary words I already knew, so I built a classical NLP pipeline to do it instead. It takes a short text + learner level (A0–B1) and returns the best words to study, using Stanza for parsing and corpus frequency ranks (SUBTLEX-NL, srLex, SUBTLEX-US) for scoring. Wins at A1/A2, loses at A0 where the LLM picks more obvious words. I also tried adding multi-word phrases (ADJ+NOUN, VERB+NOUN, phrasal verbs) backed by NPMI-scored collocation whitelists. Couldn't beat GPT there because it just "knows" which phrases…

Hello! I love anki and have been using it for years to learn mandarin, but I'm lazy and always struggled to get over the "motivation hump" to sit down and create a deck. Recently I've been consuming a lot of AI content from youtube, and spent 3 days creating a deck for Andrej Karpathy's "Deep Dive into LLMs" video. This is impractical - so I built a little youtube to anki converter @ asimpleai.com It's rough around the edges... but I would like it to eventually become something useful to community. Feedback and suggestions are welcome! peace
