Sharing an internal tool that accelerated my development work 10-fold, especially with API debugging. Thought fellow developers here might find it useful. As a developer, I often have trouble reproducing errors at the client end. https://intercept.rest lets me debug and monitor API requests and responses. I wrote this over the last couple of weeks using Rails 3, Twilio and a variety of Gems, putting in about 2 hours per day. I'd love any feedback from the HN community on any aspects of the site (design, API construction, documentation, marketing, pricing which is TBD). On a related note: I have to say that I'm really flying with Rails 3. Typically I roll with Django, but have been super impressed with the Rails 3. I've always dreamed about a project like that when looking at status boards at other companies. We finally had the time to do our own. Hi HN - Marius (mbuleandra) and I built Restly as a side project. Restly generates a user-friendly tutorial against any OpenAPI spec. While building public-facing APIs, we found that writing these guides by hand took a lot of work. Many OpenAPI specs were too large to send to GPT-4 / Claude directly, and even when we could send them, we experienced lost-in-the-middle and hallucination issues. I’ve been using Trello for a while and there were so many paper cuts over time that I decided to hack together a clean little kanban board for my needs as a weekend project. For my projects there are a lot of different hats I have to wear so that’s where “swim lanes” come in. Basically I have frontend/backend/marketing/support tasks and it was getting really polluted and hard to parse to have all these types of tasks together in a column. I love to use Flipboard on my iPad, but I was bummed that the experience couldn't follow me to the phone or desktop, so I decided to do something about it...
