In the last few weeks I've been working on a RSS application designed to be used in e-ink devices such as Kindle, through the device's web browser. It's a self-hostable app optimized for running on low-end hardware (such as Raspberry Pi, I actually run it on a 3b model). The project is in its early stages of development.
